Addie Thompson and her husband Michael own and operate Dogwood Gatherings and Events. It all started in 2013 when Addie started planning a friends wedding. Once that was planned and over she didn't want to stop there. With a degree in Hospitality her love for wedding planning grew and Dogwood Gatherings and Events blossomed into a Full Service Wedding Planning Company.
Her husband later joined in the fun as her Officiant and Partner in 2016 and with over 200 events behind them they look forward to making your event special! For the couple who would like help with every aspect of planning for their wedding. Special attention is paid to designing a cohesive event with all of the aesthetic bells and whistles.
Working side-by-side with you, we give you monthly tasks and reminders, recommend quality vendors, attend vendor meetings, help you realize your vision and then follow through by implementing all of the design aspects and coordinating the events of the wedding day.We are your planning coach, your personal event designer, the keeper of your timelines and task lists and on the day of we are there for you so that you can enjoy every single second.

Hiring Addie was the BEST decision we made when planning our wedding. She is amazing and I could not have done this without her. I used to plan events for a living so I know how much is involved in planning/coordinating an event like a wedding (that's why I hired a planner). She exceeded all of my expectations and more!

Words don’t do justice for how incredible dogwood gatherings and events was for us! From a month out to the day of. Addie was there supporting us answering all questions we had. Even when we needed help with tricky other vendors they ensured they would take care of everything and made our big day amazing and stress free. If you’re looking for someone who cares, organized and will make your big stress free I can’t recommend Dogwood Gatherings enough!

Addie was absolutely amazing! She was such a great help with our wedding! Addie and her husband set up our venue the day of the wedding and it turned out even better than I imagined!
It started to rain right at the end of our ceremony when cocktail hour/family picture time was supposed to begin and Addie managed to rearrange the schedule seamlessly so that we could get everyone inside for dinner and THEN do pictures after the rain stopped. All the guests said that they thought that's how it was supposed to be and had no idea changes to the schedule were even made.

We used Dogwood Gatherings for our planning and officiant services for our 12/4/21 wedding, and we could not have been more pleased! I could not have planned my wedding without Addie's help - she was there to answer questions and assist with any vendor questions/communications from the day we booked up until the end of our wedding. Our day was so seamless because of her help, not one thing went wrong (and if it did, she didn't let us know)! Michael was our officiant and we got so many compliments about the beautiful ceremony script (which is fully customizable). He was also there to help out throughout

The best in the business….
Addie & Mike are great to work with! I was initially set to marry in April of 21, but due to covid we postponed. Addie was fine with rescheduling and still paid as much attention as needed, even though we moved the wedding out.
Mike was our officiant and we had a lovely ceremony that was emotional and light hearted all at the same time!
I had some very specific requests, Addie and Mike did their very best to make them a reality.
Additionally, Addie has tons of wedding props/inventory that can be used during your event, they are all lovely and with Addie’s eye

Addie was instrumental in my wedding planning! She was very familiar with my venue (Raleigh, NC) with was amazingly helpful. Having someone to manage everything on the actual day was extremely necessary and I was able to completely enjoy my wedding day! Even with the craziness of lots of rebooked COVID weddings and what I'm sure is a very full calendar, I felt like I always got individual attention leading up to my wedding. A day-of coordinator is a must-have and Dogwood Gatherings was so helpful and a great value!
