DO NOT BOOK AN INSPECTION HERE!!!! They missed MOLD in my house. Visible mold that anyone can see. When I called the staff there, they were not accommodating in the least, rather, they wanted to jump off the phone with me as soon as I said there is a problem.
Additional to the mold, I found leaking pipes and other things within this house. Their warranties are absolute garbage, ran through an entirely separate company. When asked about the mold the 'professional' stated that the personnel servicing need to be certified in 'mold things and stuff' in order for the claim to process. Also, stated

Terrible staff and management. I was the homeowner and the phone staff Robyn would not allow me to schedule a re-inspection of my own property. She told me there were NO future appointments after they called a real estate agent who told them not to schedule the appointment. I was willing to pay for the re-inspection myself to ensure a repair had been done correctly. It had nothing to do with the Realtor. But they would not let me hire them to go to my house. After that, as the homeowner, I told them they were not allowed back on my property, so they lost the future business they were planning to

I do NOT recommend this company, even if you're military and using VA. Called three different realtor companies in the surround area. They all recommended Scott and his company. Being a new home buyer, I thought they had to be telling the truth if they didn't represent me. Turns out they all use this business and ACE Home Inspectors to "get through the process with minimal chances of stopping the houses from closing."
That being said, the inspector missed:
- A back sliding door which was installed backwards, yes it is possible :(
- A chimney that has a broken door.

All i can say is WOW! I really appreciate the professional, curtious, thorough and complete service that 1st defense provided. their entire team and staff were really helpful. I honestly feel like they had my best interest at heart and were looking out for me through the home purchase process. They followed up after Scott produced a solid report to review any issues/discrpencies i may have had and took time to break down the report in a way that i could understand.

Do not recommend. Inspector missed a sink hanging off the wall in the laundry room, oven door does not close completely venting out heat during operation, two windows fall in when opening due to broken tracks, seals in side light panels of front door warping, broken tile in laundry room floor, front door sticks at door latch, and the dishwasher smells horrific. We were stationed overseas during home purchase and were relying on a quality home inspection to identify major concerns. I am now approaching $3000 in home repairs and a new dishwasher that could have been addressed during closing if the

Failed to notice a faulty oven. Repair costs ended up being $579.11. They had their warranty insurance company pay their max of $500. 1st Defense refused to compensate for the remaining $79.11 or refund any of my inspection cost.

We used 1st Defense Inspections to look at an investment property we were considering in the Crestview area.
