Great breakfast! On a Saturday morning, there were not a lot of people and plenty of room for our group of 5. We had good service. I had a very traditional egg plate with scrambled eggs, bacon and hashbrowns. The Bloody Mary wasn't full of much flavor, but I will definitely come back next time I am in the area!

Went to Wing Dam on Labor Day and it was full on the inside. We didn't know about the back porch when we walked in and found a spot so I can't comment on it other than it's in back and likely overlooks the river. Service was very good considering how busy it was. I had the California burger and it was delicious. I split an order of cheese curds with my friend and they were delicious as well. He got the Wood Splitter which gave me entree envy after it arrived. He got a bloody which he said was good and came with a 12 oz bottle of domestic for a chaser. All in all, I'd recommend it, especially if

This is a hit or miss for me on the food. 1 time it will be great then the next horrible. Service is okay but not nothing special. You will have to go up to the bar to get a refill on drinks when dinning in the seated bar area. If the dining area is open in back then you get great service. Wings are basically chicken strips with barbecue sauce on the side. Very dry.

We did not eat there, reason for one star was that I called ahead to confirm that dogs were allowed on patio and they said yes. When we got there, there was no outside entrance to the patio and we couldn't bring dog through the bar (which is understood). Who I believe was the owner seemed a little grumpy about it, I just said I called and whoever answered told us we could, oh well.....

You MUST stop at the Wingdam! They are so nice and welcoming and the food and drinks are amazing! Do not pass the place by. Traveling the great river road and never felt more welcome than in Fountain City. Make this a for sure stop. I recommend the breakfast sandwich and the French toast. To die for!

The food was phenomenal and we came with locals that love this place. However, our waitress named Jill was very rude from the start. I always respect wait staff because I know it's a high stress level job. We were at table of 10 btw. Jill was annoyed with our drink order and was snippy when we would ask for extra items. The fan above our table was on at a fast speed and we were very cold. We asked if she could turn it down and she said no. So we asked someone else right away and they did it with no problem. At the end, I ordered carrot cake to go and they had run out so her response was "

Great location and view of the river.
Staff informed us that they wouldn't be able to serve us up on the deck because of lack of staff - which was ok - but they had 3 staff members to about 6/7 people in the bar, so we thought they would have still checked in on us on the deck. So we thought it odd that they dropped the ball:
* after bringing up appetizers - we had to go down to get utensils and napkins
* after bringing up our food - we had to go down to get more water/drinks, which was met with an admittance "...oh yeah, sorry guys I forgot you were up there"
* when we finished

If I could give no stars I would. Absolutely disgusting atmosphere. A bunch of drunks with the foulest language I have ever heard. Obviously had been drinking all day. The staff on duty was basically egging them off with their coarse language. When we ordered we were told they were out of just about everything.
When I asked for my bill I wasn't given a receipt just told It was $24. Gave the bartender $30 and she just looked st me as I stood there and she finally said, "Do you want change?" Wow.

Wing-dam Saloon and Grill in Fountain City is where you go to "treat your liver to a drink on the river" when boating in the area, post walking tour of Kinstone (Stonehenge of America), or after blowing more money than you will ever admit to at Fountain City/Cochrane's yearly, gigantic, Christmas craft show. I wouldn't know anything about that. My wallet is not talking either.

Texas French toast, topped with a thick burger, hash browns, American cheese and a rich brown gravy. Large portion. I added bacon and an extra side of bacon. Beer was cold, glasses were clean and the back upper deck has a great sunset view. Looks like there are a few bars with the block north of here. Great starting spot to go check them out. Get some food in ya first!!! Victor was the bartender and he offered great service. Lots of knowledge about the surrounding area. Will be back.

What a great place. We were visiting Winona, MN and could not decide on a place to eat. My husband had heard good things about this restraurant/bar so we decided to try it. We had the AMAZING hand breaded cheese curds (they only have them on Sundays) for an appetizer. We split and dinner and it was AMAZING. We had the beef and shrimp combo with garlic mashed potatoes. The food came out quickly and hot. The garlic mashed potatoes were so flavorful. The shrimp were butterfied, breaded and fried and were just perfect. Woohooo another first time review for me, I used to come here a lot on sundays to play poker with my friends, its a very friendly crowd. The food is really really good, they have different specials and on Saturdays they have all you can eat snow crab legs, if you want a sandwich then packer backer is the way to go.
The wing-dam has some really good wings and a wide selection of drinks, the bartenders and staff in general are really nice. their is an outdoor patio that can give you a somewhat good view of the Mississippi. They have a jukebox and a few slot machines, and its one of the best places
