Mango's Mexican & American Grill

Pretty good, probably the best I've gotten up north. The cheese enchiladas were very big and used white cheese (I'm used to Tex-Mex yellow cheese and more slender with more sauce). The enchiladas lacked spice.
Rice was great. The salsa was pretty good, but no spice at all! The chips were yellow corn, not what I'm used to.
The biggest thing was the refried beans tasted like they had gone rotten-- really bad after taste.
I would give this place another try. Hopefully they'll add more spice and change those beans. :)

There was a taco with this meal but it didn't make it to the photo. Everything was delicious. Fresh and they did not skimp on anything.
Our server was super cool and friendly. Also the place was clean as well.

We eat at Mango's every time we are in Winona, great Mexican cuisine where everything is homemade. It is family run, so the employees are all friendly and attentive. This afternoon we had the steak Tacos from the Grill and the Mango's Quesadilla washed down with a couple of medium Margaritas. Always good food and great service.

WONDERFUL Place! Love the fast service! Hostess was Not very friendly though, didn't even say THANK YOU when we payed! Waiter we had was very friendly and nice!

We were decided between Mangos and The Ground Round and I wish we had picked The Ground Round.
The good: The bathroom was clean and it was a comfortable setting. The server was nice and attentive. The chips were endless and the cheese sauce and salsa are complementary. Kids Mac and cheese is big and homemade. Lots of options to choose from.
The bad: The burritos were bland and there was way too much ice in the drinks. They use styrofoam cups for kids and ketchup packets which is wasteful. The kids burrito is small. Nothing was bad enough to send back but overall it was just meh.

I would not go back. The only thing good about this place was the wait staff. The lunch menu, very small portions, I'd rather pay more. I ordered a 32oz margarita, I should have been a little buzzed. It was all mix. Overall the food quality and flavor, a 2. Step it up Mango's or you'll go under.

I love this bar. They have Pacifica and Dos equipment on tap! Chips and super hot salsa are a must!

Great drinks, house special margarita is the favorite. Food is great as well. Staff is wonderful, friendly, and helpful.

Food was good!! Had a bacon cheeseburger which didn’t disappoint!! Enchiladas, chips & salsa, and drinks were DELICIOUS. Would definitely come back and order off their Mexican menu, the American Grill section could be improved upon but was still better than expected!! On the service side they were veery nice and knowledgeable about the menu!

The food was good and the service was "normal". The heated patio was nice and spacious. Clean and friendly environment. But when my wife and I compare quality and portion size to another Winona Mexican restaurant, Mangos falls a little short in our estimation.
For example, my wife is vegetarian and enjoys the Veg Fajitas, no onions. The mix of veggies at Mangos was 30-40% sliced green pepper, two sprigs of broccoli with the balance being carrots and mushrooms, a couple onion strips and two bits of chicken...just not the care and quality we hope for.

Omg !!! So delicious fresh not expensive waiter was perfect ... best verde enchiladas not overwhelming with sauce !!! Drinks are wonderful. I would recommend this place if your from out of town like I am !!! You have to come

We have been eating at mangos since the day they opened, always our restaurant. Tonight we ate there and were disappointed with service and food. And to top it off, I think we got food poisoning. Both of us were sick within a few hours after eating there. So upset by this since this has always been the place we go to. Not sure if we'll give them another try or not; we'll have to think about it.

Dishing up generous portions at affordable prices, this salsa sanctuary is popular with Winona locals and college students alike. Many a celebration has been kicked off enjoying mangonificent margaritas and warm tortilla chips from the relative safety of Mango's whimsical green pepper booths and chairs.

Will you find an innovative, blow-your-mind menu at Mangos? No. This is Mexican food in Minnesota, after all. Are you still going to be thinking about your meal hours or even days later? Probably not

Mexican restaurants are my favorite places to go. Mango's is pretty average when it comes to the food. Not the best I've had but not the worse either. But then each person has their own taste. The salsa was okay. Hubby loved the white sauce that came with the chips. The chips were warm. The service was great and the place was clean.

Very good food. Employees are nice and polite some have very good customer service and some employees don't but the food and the reasonable price and other nice employees make up for it. It also depends if you are fretting food around dinner time or closer to closing they some times forgot that a customer can hear them or understand what they say when you get food after 7pm, but never rude and disrespectful. The food is reasonably priced and delicious. Very fresh and clean.

Great food and service. Typical Mexican food menu --fresh and delicious. Love the salsas and chips, too. VERY generous drink portions. We had a party of 35 people and the staff was very organized and provided excellent service.

Great drink selection with fair prices. The service is excellent and I haven't tried a thing on the menu I dont like.

Had the Enchilada Grill with chicken and it was very good. As with everything that I have had here the seasoning level was balanced. I prefer a bit more heat and the table sauces allowed the heat level to be adjusted to my preferences.

Decent place for Mexican food in the Winona area. Very kid-friendly and their kid menu is actually pretty good! My daughter got 3 huge chicken tenders plus fries and a drink. When we go to visit Winona, we usually do the Molcajete pot for 2. It comes with chicken, steak, shrimp and mixed vegetables along with a platter of rice, beans, sour cream, tortillas and guacamole. It's pretty outstanding!

The other day I got the Texas Fajitas instead, which were plentiful and a really good price. Their chips and dips brought out to the table are worth mentioning, since they have this wonderful Rancheras

Decent enough. Fairly authentic as well. Selection isn't great, and the prices are a bit on the higher side. Very friendly staff though.

Miss that good salsa ...... such tasty salsa. I loved their salsa, really excellent salsa. More salsa for me, thank you.

I'm a sucker for a veggie fajita dinner, so I've had plenty of them all over the country. I greatly appreciate that my order was accurate (veganized) but the meal itself was meh. The vegetables were flavorless and really heavy on the onions. The salsa for the table was clearly commercial and low quality. The $2 happy hour rum and coke was a killer deal and well-poured and the service was fine.

Wonderful! Friendly staff, fun decor, and delicious food! I had lunch chicken fajitas, and my daughter had special order chicken tacos (no peppers or onions, just grilled chicken). Everything came just as ordered with beautiful presentation. I will definitely come back to Mango's!

The parking lot was almost completely full so I expected there to be a wait from the start. However, after a few minutes at most I was already seated with a drink order arriving. The service was fast and the wait staff was polite. The food was pretty good and very filling. If you like Mexican food I would recommend giving this one a try.

It's so good! I love the Mango! The other reviewers on here clearly have no idea what Mexican food should taste like to diss this little hacienda in the Midwest! Fajitas for two should be fajitas for 22- the portions are mucho grande! Authentic for sure- we spied many Latin Americans working and eating here - including Juan Valdez, Ricky Martin, George Lopez, Pablo Escobar, El Chapo, and the La Bamba guy.

We've been here a few times (I forget to check-in because I'm distracted by family) and we've had different experiences.

We've found that if we are seated in the main part of the restaurant, then we have a pleasant experience and our prior review fits the rating for Mango's. If we can choose, we'd always sit in the bar section (a little house in the middle of the joint), because the service there is exceptional and the food tends to taste better. Unfortunately, there is only seating for smaller parties (not larger than four) there.

However, if we're seated

Mango's has great margaritas and great food. I always get the carne asada or try to switch it up to pollo con creama. But the service is terrible, from being seated to getting water super late, and waiting for your check. Granted they are busy, but I have gone there a few times when they were not busy and service was still slow. Prices are decent and it's an overall nice place to go with friends to relax and enjoy a nice meal. It's also family friendly.
