Was suggested to go here from Ace Hardware as they make double sided keys. Had 2 keys made for our car topper. Got home and neither key worked. When I called and told the employee he suggested I was probably putting the double sided key in wrong! My husband was there by me and assured the gentleman we were in fact not doing that. They said we could bring the keys back Monday(this was a Fri) to get them recut. I told them we were in fact leaving Sat and needed the keys then. He said they closed in 5 minutes. Poor service.

They made five keys and they were perfect...as usual!
I noticed they had batteries that would work in my extra garage door opener that hasn't worked in years.... I had previously taken this opener to a well known Omaha garage door service to have it checked out & have the battery replaced. They told me it didn't need a battery replacement & the opener checked out fine. Well, it still didn't work!
The chap at Carl Jarl installed a new battery... Wished me luck with it.... And bingo, it works like a charm!

I called around to a couple places in Omaha to see if they would allow me to bring in my own key blank to cut, but most retail stores require you to buy their keys. The first locksmith I called had the same policy. After calling at least four places, I called Carl Jarl and the man on the phone said it was no problem and to come on over, even though they were about to close. I arrived and they cut new keys for me in less than 5 minutes. Very friendly and fast service. The key only cost $2. Much appreciated!

What a wonderful experience! My husband and I just moved into our first house. We decided that it would be important to get the locks changed.
I called five different places in Omaha. The one that was the most helpful, friendly, informative, and straight to the point was Carl Jarl. They had great customer service over the phone!
Then they came the next day to replace the locks. The employee was an experienced man who knew exactly what he was doing. He was very friendly and did an amazing job! If we ever need to replace our locks again, I will not hesitate to call Carl Jarl. I would also recommend

Small industrial strip mall store. Pretty old looking inside with guns and big safes and deer heads on the wall and such. Might creep some people out. It's easy to get in and out of and get keys-though I ran them out of stock on a recent visit. You aren't going to get a lot of smiles and happy talk from the staff here-but they get you in and out fine and I have never had a key not work that was made here.

I thought this place was the "go to" locksmith in Omaha, NE but apparently I was mistaken.
I brought in three key blanks to be cut (I had the "key code" which tells the locksmith exactly how to cut the key) but they weren't able to help. The guy behind the counter said in order to cut the key with the code it would be $25.00 per key and he could not guarantee that they would work. He also refused to cut one of my titanium key blanks saying that it "would ruin his machine" so that was that.
Interestingly enough I just hopped on the old smartphone and found another
