Able Locksmiths
Known as the "professionals who care" by satisfied customers all over the Omaha metro area, Able Locksmiths has not slowed momentum since its grand opening in 1984. Servicing well over 15,000 customers on average per year, Able Locksmiths' employees are dedicated to outstanding service and quality.

Serving the Omaha and Council Bluffs area, Able Locksmiths provides repair and replacements work on all select steel and aluminum doors and closers, installation of electronic access systems, card readers and surveillance cameras. And for those businesses with safety needs, Able Locksmiths provides safes of all sizes, both new and used.
Services
When it comes to commercial and residential security services, not only do we change, install and service any lock that might be malfunctioning or damaged - we also have the equipment to copy keys and assist you in the event of a lockout. Other services we offer for commercial security include the use of a Master Key System, as well as Access Control Systems.
Our customers don't just buy locks, keys and safes - they buy solutions to their problems. We work hard to supply our customers with products that are safe and easy to use. Whether you are looking for residential or commercial security, Able Locksmiths has you covered. Take a look at our featured products below to find the solution that fits your needs.
Our car keys have an uncanny ability to get lost inside coat pockets or underneath couch cushions - or to disappear altogether. Prior to the 1990s, you could get a spare key at any hardware store or the car dealership, of course. These days, advances in key technology have made vehicles more difficult to steal, but the price has been costlier key replacements.

Do not hire, total rip off. For a total of $483.85, they rekeyed 4 simple locks and replaced a basic lock that you can buy anywhere for $19.
They charged me twice of the quoted price which was $105 service call, $22.50 to rekey each lock, and $6.50 per key.
The service guy said that one of the locks didn't have a key, he offered to replace the lock for $55. He then charged me an additional $230 for labor which was a total surprise, I was told there will be no hidden charges.
There are plenty of locksmiths that will honor their quote, and do the job for a lot less. Able Locksmiths are not

Bad Practice:
My son went to Able Locksmiths to program a keyfob. Tony tinkered with it a few minutes. Couldn't fix it. When my son went to leave he said, "That'll be $95.00." My son laughed and went to leave. Tony was adamant. "No, that's $95.00 whether I fix it or not." My son paid it so as not to get in trouble, but said this was not clearly explained. I think this is a rotten business practice for such a well-established company!

The salesperson was very helpful. Even told me how much it would be for a new remote for my car.

We took a blank auto key and remote in to be cut and programmed. They stated that it was $45 to cut the key and $95 to program it. We inquired as to what it would be if we purchased the key from them. They stated the key would be $195 + $95 for programming. Our blank key cost us $80, so we requested they cut and program our key. Following some time (approx. 15 minutes) they said our key was no good, that it was set for another vehicle, which they showed us on their meter. They said we had to pay for the cutting and programming since this was completed, even though the key was not good. We paid

Price on materials was fair but the labor and service call fee were much higher than other places I called. Wish I had asked the rate BEFORE I had them come out. Now we're in the market for a new locksmith.

They always treat me right and I've never had a problem to date. Yes they are a little pricey but you get what you pay for.
