We have been tenants of Peerless Management, Inc., for a little over one year, and based upon many varying communications and interactions with Jim, I have found him to be reliable, consistently available, professional, and otherwise a joy to work with.

For the past 6 years, I have personally trusted Jim and Sherry to manage my property here in San Diego. Over that time, they have gone above and beyond protecting me as the owner, and also educating me on how I can be a better landlord for my tenants.

Jim was generally quick to respond, however, a bit of a fibber.
Upon visiting a home, we told him our credit score range and he said "should be fine".
We got denied based on our credit score, he told us they have a threshold and we didn't meet it. That's fine, however, we told him our scores and he still let us pay to apply though he knew we would get denied.
Upon rejection, I requested a copy of my credit report as the average he told us we had was far below what either of us show on our credit karma apps (I know that is not 100% either, but it's

Now, I'm not normally one to write negative reviews...and rarely write reviews for that matter. Normally, I put my trust to the universe and allow her to handle the Karma, that is life. BUT, in this case, I believe it's the principle of the matter. We had our hearts set on a rental home this past week and we were told by John Collins after the showing of this home that we would not be able to turn in our applications or application money until their office opened at 9am Monday morning. Just left this office while a listened to a tenant call in saying that he paid with a check, then was told that he needs to bring in a money order and they would distroy his check for almost 600. Well they cashed it, and he just paid rent again. They refused to return the money. Instructed the front desk poison to give him the run around. Smfh

The management at Peerless was wonderful. We used Peerless for our daughter's wedding. All of the people I had contact with were polite and helpful. They were quick with estimates, phone call returns, and answering every question you could imagine. I called often and made lots of small changes. Everything was accurate. They sent me reminder emails and made phone calls just to make sure I had everything under control since our family was managing most of the wedding prep ourselves. They completed everything without a hitch. Highly recommend.

The professionalism of this company can be summed up in one text message. I called on a Thursday afternoon about a home and it was available to view the next day. I made the appointment and went to the property as scheduled only to receive a text message, not a phone call, stated "4 PM appointment at (deleted address) has been canceled. It's been rented. Thank you."

For the past 3 years, my wife and I were tenants of a property managed by Peerless. Our experience was positive from the beginning with Sherry showing us the property and doing the lease signing. I'd like to think we are pretty low maintenance tenants but any time we had any issues, which were few and far between and minor, Jim was responsive and had a service company and/or handyman out to rectify the situation ASAP. When it came to getting my security deposit back, they were very fair and reasonable with the portion that was returned. Monies withheld were warranted for minor damage that

To call this nonsense a company is an insult to any organized business, including a lemonade stand. Unfortunately, this nonsense manages the HOA for my condo. They are incompetent, interact with clients in an unprofessional manner, refuses to share information about expenditures, and has a conflict of interest between homeowners and vendors.

I am a prospective tenant currently searching for a property to rent. While looking online I found a nice listing with John Collins as the listing agent for Peerless Properties and called his listed number right away leaving a message. I did not receive a return phone call so I called again the next day and left another message. Again, no call back. I looked at the listing again and called the main number for Peerless Property. Worst property management company in the world. they cheated me out of my deposit. when I moved out they walked the property and said everything looked great, then they smiled and sent me a check for $3 on a $2,500 deposit yes I said three dollars on 2500 dollars. they cheated me they will cheat you, beware. if a sign says peerless property management keep on driving they will cheat you.
One other thing, we found someone to move into the property after we left. within 1 week he had new tenants that we had found, he didn't even have to advertise. we did all the work for him.

You don't want to go to Peerless management if your looking for property to rent or if you have property that you want managed. Look for a different Place There is so many in San Diego that are good Like Golden Property Management or Re/max You can find a lot of other places in Town Don't Wasted your time with Sherry Or Jim Staron They are not good agent's that represent property's for owners. I utilized this company to handle the rental of my property. They were fine as far as the rental period, but as soon as I stopped having them rent the place, they were very unwilling to make a decent effort to return the keys. They were "too busy" to do it, and "didn't have the time" to go to the Post office to mail the keys in a mail-able envelope. After expressing my frustration, when already driving out there to pick up the keys (5 days after I stopped renting) someone else still had the keys in their possession.
