This nonprofit runs Harvard daycares. They are not actually a Harvard-run organization, as the Office of Work Life Balance at Harvard has little ability to influence their management. My experience with them is that they exhibit poor communication with parents and have a lot of work to do to sync the various daycares and make program descriptions consistent with reality. E.g., We were told and shown on their website that 'parental participation is encouraged' before signing up, but then when we met with the teachers we were told parents visiting their infants in the day is strongly

My grandchildren attend Harvard Yard Child Care and it is a super special caring and learning environment for children. Their focus on free play, loose parts play, hands on activites, imaginary play, art, and stories is amazing and focused for each age group. The teachers rotate play centers to keep students exploring and learning. I visit frequently and they welcome me in the classroom. The teachers are happy and very dedicated to their children. The relaxed atmosphere produces happy students. I’ve watched them redirect students and always talk about why students get upset. They talk it out

I was an educator at HYCCC for six years-- at the time, it was a great place for children as well as staff! It was an honor to work in partnership with the parents and families of the children. I have been in ECE for over 25 years now, and HYCCC really stands out as a center with high quality of care and strong family engagement.
