Located in the center of Cambridge, Alef Bet is a welcoming, warm community for toddlers and preschoolers. We have a dedicated, wonderful group of staff and teachers, some of whom have been with us for over a decade. We accept children 15 months through 5 years old and we offer both full and part-time enrollment.

Services
Alef-Bet Child Care, Inc. (ABCC) was founded in 1987 by a group of parents, educators and members of the local community. Through the guidance of our teachers, who are early childhood development professionals, our children enjoy learning through hands-on exploration and social interaction in safe, warm and vibrant surroundings.
Jerry studied at Rabbi Brovender's Yeshiva in Jerusalem before receiving his B.A. from Yeshiva University in New York. He has a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Lesley College. Prior to Alef-Bet, Jerry was a preschool teacher and adjunct lecturer in Child development for nearly a decade.
Alef-Bet is NAEYC accredited, offers affordable health and dental insurance, a 401K retirement savings plan, paid vacation, and free off-site parking. Join our toddler room as a lead teacher. We take a play-based learning approach with multiple play stations and projects for children to engage with.
Our goal is to remain open when reasonably possible and safe for our children, parents, and teachers to travel to Alef-Bet. We typically close for weather if Cambridge Public Schools decides to close. While the Alef-Bet enrollment year begins in September and ends in August, children are accepted whenever we have a vacancy in a classroom.
Please note that we usually do not move children mid-year if they age into the next class. Alef-Bet families who are members of Temple Beth Shalom pay TBS member rate in annual tuition. Families who are Non-Members and have more than one child at Alef-Bet pay at the Non-Member rate for one child and TBS member fee for the second child.

We are so happy with the level of care at Alef Bet. The director is wonderful and involved, the teachers are loving and educated, there's an on-site playground, they provide year-round care, and it's a wonderful community of families. The holidays can be tricky for some, but it's worth it. Alef Bet provides the type of child care/education that we always wanted for our child.

Alef-Bet is the fourth daycare we've sent our children to (we moved from New York and then had difficulty finding a place that fit our schedule/needs), and it is by far the best for us. The love the teachers show the children is incredible, the community of parents is strong and the non-judgmental approach to teaching about Judaism is just right. Alef-Bet is a special place and and we couldn't imagine sending our children anywhere else.
