Services
The Garden of Children has offered child day care to the Newport News area since 1974. Our dedicated staff is certified, insured, warm and caring. We believe that the pre-school experience prepares children academically, emotionally, and socially for elementary school. Additionally, we believe play is a vital element in a child's learning experience.

This childcare facility has been the light at the end of a long tunnel for me. I’m very particular about my child and childcare facilities but this location has been a blessing to me and has proved that there is still good childcare available . We are greeted with smiles at the beginning of th day and always walk away with a smile at the end. I am confident my child is taken care of and that will always make my day that much better. To directors and staff, keep up the good work

My 2.5 year old son has never been in a daycare and he has a speech delay. They are very patient with him and he’s learning new things every week! Being able to keep an eye on him and getting notifications from his teachers are a plus! I recommend 100%! Michelle and Kayla have made a big impact on my baby and I will forever be grateful for them 💙

I have two children at GOC (one in the yellow and one in the pink room). They both have been going there since they were in previous rooms and they absolutely love it! The staff is great! The owner's dedication is unmatched!! They allow parents access to the child(ren) rooms via live camera feeds AND phone application so that you never miss a beat while away from your child(ren). As an essential worker I feel comfort and security in knowing my children are safe especially in this time of the pandemic. They are exceptional at disinfecting and distancing...even prior to the pandemic...but definitely

I absolutely love this center! My oldest started here when she was close to 3 (5) and my youngest started at (4 weeks) 1! I feel that they definitely contributed to the character of my children and have instilled good habits into them! I love that even the infant room has a lesson plan and that they are creative and always evolving. Staff are super friendly and I feel actually care about my children🙏🏾! I wish them nothing but the best and highly recommend them!

My son has been going to The Garden of Children for 5 years. And I can’t thank Mrs.Debbie and her staff enough truly a blessing! My son has Autism and they work with me and treats my son just like theirs own! Their always doing things with the kids and just making sure the kids are in a safe and clean environment! I definitely would recommend them to anyone just because of their dedication to the kids!!

I have three children varying in ages from 24yrs to 8yrs old, and all three have been to the Garden of Children. My youngest has seen the renovation of the center first hand and she LOVES the changes. That is from a child's perspective, a child that is there daily and sees everything first hand.
The staff are loving, caring and involved with the children. The Spring Break and Summer camps are beyond expectations. My daughter loved the various activities and field trips. She loves them (staff) so much she calls a staff member "Nana".

Hands down...the BEST Daycare in the city of Newport News! The staff is outstanding! They are highly trained, motivated and most importantly LOVE working with the kids. These are not just baby sitters, this staff actually works on curriculum to TEACH these children something new everyday. They are warm, friendly and outgoing. The facility is clean, safe/secure and has WEB cams so parents can login and see what their child is doing during the day, even if the children are outside.
