Services
JLC's staff of environmental professionals is dedicated to the needs of its clients and has developed expertise in a variety of disciplines and provides "turn-key" consulting services and analytical work on environmental problems such as Asbestos, Lead, Mold (fungi), Indoor Air Quality, Legionella, Water and PCB.
Moisture control is the key to mold control. Molds need both food and water to survive; since molds can digest most things, water is the factor that limits mold growth. Molds will often grow in damp or wet areas indoors. Failsafe Training Co., a division of JLC, has been providing environmental health and safety training since 2000.
JLC has conducted thousands of asbestos containing materials (ACM) inspections to determine whether asbestos is present in building materials. Samples of building materials are collected and analyzed by our laboratory located in mid-town Manhattan.

Surfacing Materials - such as troweled on materials like decorative plaster or sprayed on fireproofing like the materials found on the underside of concrete slabs or decking or on structural members were often applied to protect buildings in the event of a fire.Thermal System Insulation - also referred to as TSI, are materials such as pipe and boiler insulation along with tanks, ducts and even radiator backing.
Contamination caused by a sewage system backup or broken drain pipe can cause extensive physical damage to your property. Raw sewage contamination can cause a wide range of fungal, bacteriological, viral, and parasitic hazards. Proper inspection of carpets, tiles, walls, ceilings, crawlspaces and heating and air-conditioning equipment is required to prevent the transmission of bacterial contamination to other building areas.
JLC has worked for years conducting testing and consulting to real estate clients who are faced with Legionella bacteria issues. Whether the problem be in the domestic water supply or in cooling towers, we have been involved with a variety of projects working closely with the local Departments of Health and with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
