Dr. L. Edward Elliott, the senior partner at Modesto Optometric Vision Center, has practiced optometry for more than thirty years. He is a graduate of the School of Optometry, University of California, Berkeley and has served as a Clinical Professor at the University for twenty-two years. Dr. Elliott has a general optometric practice, serving patients of all ages from infants to older adults.
Dr. Brian Elliott is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. He is a native of the Central Valley and has been practicing in Modesto, with his father, for the past 20 years. Dr. Elliott has a particular interest in assisting patients with significantly reduced vision or low vision through the use of specialized systems.
Dr. Lori Krieger has been with Modesto Optometric since 2001. Dr. Krieger grew up in Ripon, graduating from Ripon High School. She continued her schooling at Modesto Junior College and the University of California, Davis, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences.
She then continued on to optometry school at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Optics and a Doctor of Optometry degree.Before coming to Modesto Optometric, Dr. Krieger also practiced optometry in Minnesota, Chicago, and the Sacramento area.

My daughter injured her eye on a Saand Dr. Elliott did not let us feel like we were ruining his day. He met us at the office and took care of my daughters eye. This is by far the best optometrist in town. I've been to a few and none of the others have taken care of my family with such patience and professionalism.

Amazing experience here!! The doctors are all top notch and communicate very well. Front of house staff walks through all paperwork and pricing so there aren’t any surprises. Also, shout out to Jay…she gives out stickers if you do well on the pre appointment tests…she said I was ‘her little hero’ for acing the dot test with the beeper!

Just recently went in for my annual eye exam that was well overdue. The staff upfront was very friendly. The entire experience was very enjoyable from the second you walk in to check in with staff to picking glasses. 100% recommend this place. The tall girl in the front office was very friendly and helpful when I mentioned to her that I had two possible insurances and was able to search it up for me. Just received my glasses a week ago and I am enjoying them thoroughly.

I had an appointment with Eddy the optician today to pick up the second pair of glasses made since the first pair were a nightmare due to wrong size and shape frame being picked out by staff on hand at the time, and needed to be sent back for a redo with the new frame Eddy picked out for my Rx. I went through literal hell for 2 weeks trying to adjust to that first pair! Dr.Elliot and staff are all very nice although patronizing and condescending. My Rx is farsightedness and difficult so everything needs to be perfect for a successful vision experience including the Rx, frame size/shape and fitting

Wanted to first say that Dr. Elliot Sr. has been our doctor for more than 15 years and we think he's amazing. Unfortunately he's retiring and that love we have is gone because the staff is rude. I called to see if I could understand my script because it had numbers that didn't fit the website I was ordering on and the staff I spoke to was rude because I was ordering off a website and not through them. Her response was that's why we recommend you order through us and not she didn't want to help me at all. Tried to get me to buy from them with a discount but I explained that

I recently had an issue with a pair of glasses I purchased there and brought them in to see what could be done. Edie helped me with the manufacturing defect that was causing the glasses hinge to catch my hair constantly.
Edie spent so much time and went well above in terms of helping to get it right and in ensuring I would be happy with my glasses.. During the entire situation she was very informative and communicative with me.

BUYER BEWARE!!. Choose your glasses Wisely because they will not give you a refund if you buy and change your mind nor will they tell you that a refund will be given.
Per Dr recommendation , I chose Progressive Lenses , paid $190 with VSP however after trying for 7 days, this did not work for me. The tech told me that I could bring them back and will be able to change ,which I did. It was exchanged for non Progressive lenses and I asked for a refund as I do have insurance and was told " NO"!.

This place is a mess. Don’t waste your time. They overcharged my insurance by about 800 dollars and were rude about it. Mind you for 1 pair of glasses. I had to wait close to 2 months to pick them up because they ordered the wrong prescription. That pair of glasses continuously needs to be adjusted and now I am sitting in their waiting room for a simple adjustment since1 1/2 hours!!!! and watch everyone who comes in after me without and appointment go in before me. I am done with this place and do not recommend them to anyone. 1star is too much. I think I just leave and get my glasses adjusted

I have been coming here for many years. I love this place! The only bad thing that I have to say is the woman who answers the door to take your temperature during this pandemic is so very rude. I have had to come here 3 times in this last month and she has been rude all 3 times. I thought the first time was just a bad day for her and gave her the benefit of the doubt. I was wrong. I think she needs to work in the back and have someone who is much more friendlier greet patients at the door.

I am a white senior citizen female on government subsidized health insurance.
On June 10, 2020 I called Mr. Elliot's office to make an appointment for a routine eye exam and was scheduled for July 20, 2020.
On July 16, 2020 I received a phone call from Mr. Elliots office informing me that my appointment was cancelled. Upon inquiring why, I was told the doctor no longer wants to see low income individuals.
Wow! Talk about discrimination, apparently according to Mr. Elliot, low income white women's lives don't matter either.

This is the only place I will go to get my glasses, I have very bad eyesight, and pair that with being irresponsible and it’s an expensive mixture. However, I’ve been coming here since I was 5 , and older workers whom remember always come through and treat me like family, there are times I’ve broken my glasses and they do everything in there power to help me, people like Edie and Rosie, or even newer employees such as Jt or Jennifer. I love coming here, and it’s not the same anywhere else, you don’t get the sense of belonging or comfort. Glad to have come here, and within the last year

I really can't say too much about the dr but the staff is great. I worked with eddy and Rosie to get both my husband and I glasses through covid 19. Eddy was able to do so much over the phone. They make it easy and comfortable to ask financial questions. We will keep getting our glasses here for sure. And the selection is soo large.

I can't say enough about this clinic, staff and facility. Dr. Brian is very thorough. He diagnosed my glaucoma in a very early stage! Before it affected my vision (13 years later I'm doing fine ). My lens prescription is "right-on." MODESTO Optometric Vision Center has taken care of my family for decades. If you "love" your eyes this is your provider..
Edie is special. She is highly skilled and has the certifications to back it up. She understands the lens prescriptions and the style of frame design in the same thought. I have seen Edie liaison with the vendors

The only reason I gave 1 star is because i liked Dr. Elliot. Everything and everyone else is awful. The staff talked so loud that waiting in the lobby made me feel like I'm in a marketplace. I ordered a pair of glasses because they didnt have the right size for me. Nobody got back to me to update me about the glasses that I ordered, 3 weeks. Then I called back and spoke to 3 different staff only to tell me that the glasses were on back order and should come in Wednesday or Thursday that week (we are talking about 1 month now). They were supposed to call me but still haven't heard from anyone. So

I was very disappointed my last visit after 45+ years of seeing Dr. Elliot Sr. I had to see a new optometrist because my VSP plan had changed. I was rushed through didn't get the right prescription on my lenses, it looks like Dr. Elliot Jr. is taking over the office I guess this is what the younger generation called progress, I will not be going back I can get the same service at Target and it costs a lot less.

I went to get my annual eye exam last friday, and my experience there was excellent. Dr Tong was very thorough in her examination. It included tests which I had never done before to check how well my eyes work together, as well as clear explanation of my eye health. The staff is well trained and organized, as they lead me through various steps of the entire visit. They were also very helpful in selecting my frame and giving me feedback on what looks good on me. I appreciate that very much because I went there by myself. My overall experience was great, and I will come back next year for my exam

The assistants that help do the exams are not trained very well and don't seem to know what they are doing.
On our last visit, we were helped by Dr. Elliot's aid , Marie or Maria and she was exceptional. I told the doctor (Dr. Jung sp ?) that she needs to be the trainer for her staff as Marie works for Dr. Elliot.
This place likes to nickel and dime you for everything!
If my insurance doesn't cover it, I don't want it done.
They suggested several tests which ended up coming out of my pocket. Also, they suggest the progressive lenses

UPDATE: REFUSED TO ISSUE MY GLASSES! I called MVOC to ask if my glasses were ready. I owed $39 And some change and was going to pay it when I picked up my glasses ( and never return to again) I was placed on hold. The office manager got on the line and told my they would not be issuing me my glasses. When I told her I paid $200 she informed me they would refund my money. WHY? Let me guess. You didn't like my yelp review. I didn't like missing 3 days of work for a staph infection. MVOC may be nice to you now but if something goes wrong you can bet tbey will be unapologetically rude dismissive

We have been patients here for over 20 years and have ALWAYS been treated with extraordinary care and attention to details to meet our family of 6's special needs. The doctors are extremely knowledgeable and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. We often schedule appointments but LOVE that we can just walk in for ememrgency care and they work us in. We cannot recommend them enough. I am just sorry I have never take. The tome to post a review before now!! I am 60 and this is still new to me!

I am blessed beyond belief to have gotten the referral to Modesto Optometric about fifteen years ago. Both my husband and I are grateful patients. At our ages, we book our eye exams together and go out for lunch after at one the great restaurants right nearby. It's a date!

A place I've been going to as a kid. Now that I'm older I see this place is actually super over priced and has a group of rude employees. My prescription took a MONTH and a half to be written. I went blind for a month and their trial pair also tore in half out of my eye after a couple of hours of trying it. My trial pair was supposed to last me 2 weeks yet it took 6 weeks for my prescription to be written not including the wait time for them to be shipped to me
