Eye exams are a vital part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle for everyone. Wink Optical can provide comprehensive examinations to ensure your vision is at peak performance. A comprehensive eye exam is a way to evaluate the overall health of your eyes and vision. At Wink Optical, we utilize vision measurement exercises, lettered eye charts, and other instruments to help diagnose problems.
If you currently wear contacts or intend to in the future, you'll need a contact lens evaluation. This is different from a comprehensive eye exam. Our optometrists will perform specific tests to evaluate your vision with contacts. The exam measures your eye's surface area to determine which size and type of contact lens will work for you.
Most think of an eye exam as a way to check on the quality of their vision. But a comprehensive eye exam is so much more. With our state-of-the-art equipment, we can diagnose not only conditions that impact your eyes, but warn you of potential medical problems. Below are just some of the things we may help diagnose in your comprehensive eye examination.
At Wink Optical, we can provide the eyewear adjustments you need. Our optician will check to make sure the center of your lens matches up with the center of your pupil. This can change based on your prescription. While the temptation of ordering glasses online is out there, it is important to have proper fitting to avoid complications.

Dr. Beute is great! Was actually referred to her by her former colleague who now lives in Portland, Oregon. He was my eye doctor when I lived there and he suggested I go to her when I move here.
Came here for an exam this past week and had a very positive experience. She is super personable, nice, and her staff is great! Cute little office and I was in and out very quickly. Recommended!

Knowledgeable, professional, friendly eye boutique in Lincoln Park/Lakeview. I have recommended several friends and they all still go here! I haven't had glasses until now. The staff was helpful and honest in assisting me choosing my frames. I think we did pretty good, been getting a lot of compliments! Thank you Dr. Beute & team!

Great neighborhood optometry practice! Dr. Beute and her team are fantastic. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful. My wife and I had our first appointments there yesterday and could not be more pleased. Dr. Beute was thoughtful, friendly and professional. Nina was extremely helpful in picking out frames and finding the most cost effective options of eyeglasses and contacts through our respective vision insurance plans. Overall great experience and will continue to go back.

I had the worst experience here. My husband ordered some frames he received the wrong frames twice to top that off there was no apology. The lady that helps you pick the frames has the worst personality ever. She was so unprofessional and rude. Had to drive there three times and on the third trip finally got the frames. It wasn't a pleasant experience either. Tried calling the eye doctor 4 times and never received a return phone call. Will never go back!! Bad service.

What a great experience! Nina was wonderful. She offered great advise and feedback while I was selecting a new set of frames. Dr. Beute was very thorough and explained everything. She was very accommodating to my schedule. I finally have an eye doctor and office I feel comfortable with and can't wait to bring the rest of my family.

My husband and I have been coming to Wink for years. Nina and Dr. Beute are never short of amazing. They are always willing to spend time making sure we have what we need, are comfortable, and informed about our vision and eyewear. We recently moved out of state and love Wink so much that we are planning on coming back for our annual appointments. I was nervous about finding a new eye doctor after moving to Chicago. After getting a recommendation from a colleague, I decided to check out Wink Optical. From the moment I walked in, the staff was genuinely friendly and helped me get my information filled out. Dr. Beute was so friendly and worked quickly while taking time to get to know me. After my appointment, they called quickly to give me information about contacts and glasses. They even called back when they found a better deal for me.

I've been a patient of Dr. Beute for over 5 years and would not imagine going anywhere else. She and her staff are always polite and attentive. We have one child in glasses. He got a pair at Lyons eye care last year that were bad from the get go. We were both excited to get a new pair for this school year. Wink got us in right away for an exam. Took care of filing our insurance. Even more impressive,they stayed on hold for 20 plus minutes making sure of our benefits and coverage with our insurance company.

Wearing glasses my whole life, I know a thing or two about eye doctors. I was semi-traumatized after my experience last year (see my review of Spex on Halsted) but knew I was ready to try again, this time, to ditch my glasses and get contacts.
