Our Preschool Martial Arts program was developed specifically for preschool age children ages 4 through 6. This program offers children a strong foundation in essential character qualities such as courtesy, respect, and discipline. Mantra image above to follow you everywhere. There are many reasons for children to become involved in the martial arts.
Our Karate for Kids program is based on a lifetime learning concept in addition to the technical skills of traditional Taekwondo.

Services
There may be several changes that will have to happen for us to be able to open. According to phase 1 opening, we will be limited to no more than ten people on the workout floor. You will be required to pre-register for your class. We ask that you choose no more than two classes to participate in to allow other students to be able to attend class as well.
Willoughby Martial Arts Academy has classes for all ages, all experience levels and all types of activity. Please visit the programs page to learn more about our programs. The instructors are incredible! They are so patient with my son who can be unfocused and distracted most of the time! They work with him and do all they can to make sure he is getting the most out of the class while holding him responsible for his actions at the same time!
Are you a principal, camp counselor, or teacher and want your students to learn some martial arts, bully prevention, or basic flexibility? We can help with that. We offer show and tell presentations where we interact with the students with basic move instruction and life skills lessons. This group would include 1-100 students.

My son joined a few months ago and was very shy! ( one reason we wanted him to get into karate) his first couple times he would not go in. The instructors were very patient with him, worked with him, and even did a one on one to get him more comfortable! Since then he’s been excited to go in and earn/learn for new belts and made new friends.! Thank you!

The DoJo is staffed with knowledgeable instructors and the kids love the training.
The negative side that some may object to is the progression of belts is based mostly on participation and ruff understanding of techniques.
Given time kids will learn and they do have adult classes. It is up to the parent and students to practice what is taught to become true masters of Taekwondo.

We have been here for a year, and my sons absolutely love it. They are challenged in ways that compliment their skill levels. They have grown tremendously in their confidence.
As a parent, I am amazed at how well the instructors relate to the students. They maintain high expectations, but relate to their students at a personal level. They seem to know exactly what each student is capable of, and push them just beyond their comfort zone. They are also tremendously accommodating of students with special needs...it's amazing how seamlessly such students are integrated into the rest of the class.

My 6 year old daughter had trouble finding an interest after ballet, gymnastics, cheerleading, swimming, horseback, etc... We found kids karate and let me just tell you- she gets EXCITED for the days she gets to take her classes. The smile is on her face from the start of class until well into the evening. They are great with the children, keeping them interested in the activities while offering 30 minute classes- perfect for the attention span for that age group.
