Services
There's no doubt that you love your pet. But are you really doing everything possible to ensure they live a safe, healthy, and happy life? At Bristol Veterinary Hospital, we encourage all cat and dog owners to schedule a wellness exam. Here are a few things to know about this type of appointment and why they are so important.
For most pet owners, the thought of taking a four-legged family member in for surgery is frightening. Thankfully, our team at Bristol Veterinary Hospital understands your concern, as most of us are also pet owners ourselves. Here are a few things to keep in mind throughout the entire surgical experience.
You wouldn't dream of skipping out on an annual dental exam for yourself or your children. But what about one for your pet? At Bristol Veterinary Hospital, we encourage all pet owners to schedule annual dental appointments for their feline and canine companions. If left untreated, poor dental health can lead to dental disease or serious heart and lung issues.
Helping your pet live a long and healthy life is important. However, sometimes our team at Bristol Veterinary Hospital needs a little bit more information to help diagnose an ailment and create an appropriate medical plan for your companion. That's where veterinary diagnostic imaging becomes crucial.
At Bristol Veterinary Hospital, we know you love your pets and want only what's best for their health. That's why we strongly encourage all owners to spay and neuter their pets. The surgical sterilization process is quite common and relatively low-risk with a short recovery period.
Not only will your companion be back to their normal habits within a few days, you'll enjoy peace of mind in knowing you've helped your pet live a longer and healthier life.Spaying is reserved for female animals to prevent unwanted pregnancy. During the spay procedure, the surgeon makes a small incision in your pet's abdomen.

Take pet owner's concerns more seriously. Do blood work/xray regardless if they think your pet is fine. YOU KNOW YOUR PET! They finally did last Thursday and by Saturday my cat had died. No discount was offered for cremation, I hardly felt any sympathy. I had just spent $666 on thurs and another $400+ on visits within the last 5 months for the same issue with my cat. And now I'm left with 5 meds that totaled almost$200 that were never used and they wont take back. I will never go back!

The Dr. there told me to give my 25 lb cat 5 times the calories he was on to lose weight on a diet that was 95% vegetable Carbohydrates &5% meat by products & was extremely expensive .Total junk food! It appeared he didn't care just wanted to get the office visit money & get me out the door. Cats are Carnivores meat eaters & High Carbs & high calories results in feline diabetes& more weight gain. Even grade school children know that high sugar/ high calorie carbs leads to obesity. Instead of apologizing they banned me from bringing my cat in for rabies shots. Heather
