Services
We offer a variety of on-site diagnostics, including bloodwork, cytology and digital radiographs. While we strive to achieve diagnoses' in hospital, depending on what is most appropriate for the circumstances, we may recommend sending out samples for further testing to trusted, off-site diagnostic facilities.
We offer Royal Canin Veterinary Diets at Lake Side Animal Hospital. These medicated diets are designed to aid in the therapy of certain diseases or conditions, and range from urinary health to weight management. Certain diets may be recommended by the doctors if the patient has a condition which would benefit from a prescription diet.
We offer a large variety of medications in hospital, both for short courses or routine maintenance. If we do not carry a preferred or required medication, we will refer to our online pharmacy, VetSource. Unlike other online pharmacies, VetSource works directly with our facility and purveyors, and offers delivery of medications.
Eastern medicine has been applied for centuries in equine care, and is becoming more common with smaller household pets. We offer acupuncture and herbal therapy to assist in the treatment of multiple conditions, including arthritis, mobility deficits and respiratory function. Dr. Taylor completed her acupuncture studies at The Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in Reddick, Florida in December of 2014.
Safety - For the safety of all our patients in or on the hospital premises, we ask that all dogs are on a leash and cats placed safely in a carrier. If we find any signs of fleas on a hospitalized pet, we will apply a flea preventative at an additional cost to the pet owner. Vaccination Requirements - We do require that vaccinations (Rabies and Distemper) be up-to-date on hospitalized patients.
