Dr. Shay graduated with honors from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008, where she majored in Rehabilitation Science. In 2012, she received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry (Memphis, Tennessee).

They are very thorough. Very friendly doctors and staff. They explain everything completely. They care about you as a patient. They make sure that your prescription change is good before having you order multiple glasses. I ordered regular glasses and was advised to wait until I have them for a month before ordering my sunglasses in case prescription needs adjustment.
The doctors and tecnicians are excellent and the doctor gave me a referral when she found a problem that needs a specialist. They also contacted one of my medical doctors to advise them to have me do some needed tests.

The entire staff was absolutely wonderful, from reception, to the eye exam, Dr. Brocopio, and the optician. And the music is an extra special touch. Sensational! I don't know why everyone isn't rating this eyecare center 5 stars across the board. Knowledgeable, exceptional customer service, and the ambience was peaceful. This team is performing!

I have to say this office’s doctors are so great but I had bad experience with making an appointments, the first mistake is the date they give me an appointment card that incorrect day which is 10th is Sunday (but they checked Saturday)and this appointment didn’t have any reminder and emails, And anyway the second mistake about my appointment, I went to the office talk to them, actually they put my middle name as last name, then they asked me why I have 2 different last names but everything else is correct, the front desk staffs are nice but the lady looks like manager question me that why

I would recommend this practice for those looking for glasses or contact lens prescription. I am so thankful this practice provided me with Shaw lens. This unique type of lens is highly specialized. I am so relieved I can work until my cataract surgery due to the Shaw glasses I have otherwise I would be missing work and would need to take a leave of absence. I am lucky these glasses exist allowing me to see after removal of my contact lens.

I have gone to Virginia Eye Care Center for over 20 years. We take our kids here too. Always top-notch and up to date on the latest in eye care. Everyone is great! From the receptionists to the assistants to the eye doctors to the people helping with glasses and frames. They are all friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. This office is always clean and well managed. We will be going here for many more years and I highly recommend them!

Every doctor and technician is amazing. However my experience with Dr. Jen Weigel is by far the best. She showed great care and attention to my 8 and 5 year old kids. Explaining everything to them, giving acknowledgement and positive feedback, responding to their curious nature and treating them with respect and dignity that is owed to any patient regardless of age. It was a great visit for both kids and mom!!! Dr. Jen and team rock!!!

After hearing RAVE REVIEWS from family members I took a chance and booked an appointment for my annual checkup. Let me just say I wish I would’ve found this place sooner!!!! It’s CLEAN. It’s warm and inviting. From checkin to checkout I was treated with respect and kindness. The tech was efficient but didn’t rush or make me feel like I was an annoyance. She talked me through the process and made sure I was made aware of each part of the preliminary exam.
