Recently, my husband and my sister have been under the care of the nurses, doctors, and other ancillary providers at Mid Coast Hospital. As a retired medical professional, I want to share how impressed I am, as they, with the loving kindness we have been surrounded by during the past few months. We received incredible care from the time we walked into the Emergency Department until she was delivered to the curb to go home.

It's a mixed bag. Praises for the Palliative Care Team, oncologist Dr Haney and the nursing staff of the med/surg unit (rooms 210 and 234). It took awhile to conclude my sister was terminally ill and through it all these staff were compassionate and both listened to my sister and family and helped us understand options.
Case management is another matter. They told us she didn’t qualify for hospice and later that there were no available beds. We had to wait over the weekend. On Monday we pleaded with Palliative Care to send a hospice referral anyway, she was accepted within 2 hours to Gosnell

It takes more then a half hour to go through registration. Having 8 or 9 people in line is not ok. There's either not enough staff, or they are talking to much about personal lives. Other then that Mid Coast is a great place.

Doctor was great I’ve never had an issue with any of the staff but their billing department is a total joke! I had an ER visit didn’t have insurance at the time in 2018 they said no worries we’ll send you a bill which is fine I had a service rendered they deserve to be paid, except the bill never came I called and was told I didn’t have one so I let it go and now in 2021 it pops up on my dads SSN as a collection account. Apparently they still had my family’s info from when we lived at NASB and instead of using my updated info I provided them they tried to bill tricare and send the bill

Just got off the phone with the most rude "nurse" I think I have ever talked with. No answers, no compassion. I typically like to post positive experiences only, but this truly deserves -stars if possible. I had a medical question that also relates closely to my employment and seeing patients of my own today, however after talking with her I understand now why I have the empathy I have towards people I see. Just be kind - that is all you have to do, you never know what someone else may be going through. I hope you don't treat everyone you speak with today the same way you treated me 💜

I wish this review could be more praise than criticism because of how wonderful my first emergency room stay was. Alice P. was the crisis worker who assessed me during my first stay and she was amazing and I have nothing but respect for her. The nurses were kind and respectful of me. Staff communicated well with me, my guardian, and my therapist.
My second stay on the other hand was wildly different. Both crisis workers I spoke with during this stay were incompetent and horrid. The first was horrible at listened and often spoke through me rather than to me. The second was ignorant and ignored

I had a hernia repair from Dr Mason and tubal from Dr Shalhaney yesterday. I am so grateful that they were able to do both surgery at once, whereas Maine general wouldn’t even consider it. My surgery went well, other than the pain of course. I have to say my nurse Jon was absolutely thorough, very very kind, and personable absolutely amazing. My anesthesiologist nurse such a great personality I wish I could remember her name, and Terra whom just started there who helped me get to the bathroom and to my vehicle what a great new addition to the team! Every single one of you are amazing! Thank you

I went to Midcoast for a hernia repair and my nurse Lara was amazing. She was personable, compassionate and easy to talk to which made my experience better than I expected. This was my first surgery so as you can imagine it was unnerving for me but Lara put me at ease by keeping me apprised on what she was doing plus what I could expect from the surgery. I couldn't have done it without her and for that I'm very grateful and thankful for her. Lara, thank you and I wish you all the best.

My son has had an on going health problem since February this year. We have gone to so many doctors that I couldn’t tell you the number.
My son has constant pain. When the pain gets to much to bare, doctors tell him to go to the ER. They give him a Ultrasound or a cat scan, and find nothing. You would think that after all this time they would give him a MRI. He has great insurance, so the excuse to not help is mind boggling.
On top of that they speak down to my son, whose asking for help.
We even spoke to their patient quality people, that didn’t do a thing.
So, if you need a hospital I

I’m visiting my mom. I’m from Wv. I went in the ER for my gallbladder. I ’m 10hrs away from home visiting so that wasn’t good but I wouldn’t change it. I went in Monday early after my second attack. They covered everything. I had the best care by the sweetest people. I wouldn’t have had the same treatment at home. Thank you for taking such good care of me. I appreciate all of you❤️

I had a 4-day stay, admitted from the ER. From the git-go, staff were knowledgeable, thorough, professional and personable. They could have easily discharged me with "heartburn" but waited for additional testing and time lapse for indicators to hit my blood stream. As tests confirmed suspicions, I was admitted to the hospital. There, without exception, all staff was available, courteous, knowledgeable, professional and caring. From the doctors, nurses, right down to the dude who brought my meals, I give all an A+. I was treated with empathy and respect and everything was fully explained to me.
