Services
Hello my name is John Munoz and this is my wife Claudia. We are the owners and founders of C-Quence BJJ. You will find our studio to have a warm welcoming environment. From adults who train for fitness and fun to students who train to compete in tournaments and in the cage. Everyone is here to help each other get better in a fun positive environment.
From fitness and goal setting to better focus and self-control - Kids in our program are changed for the better. And their parents couldn't be happier. In my 26 years of teaching children Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, these are the results I often see after a few months training. Self-Confidence - Most often when it comes to kids being bullied your child's self-confidence plays a big part in demonstrating a don't pick on me attitude.
John Munoz began training in Mix Martial Arts in his early teens, studying Boxing, Wrestling, Kung Fu, and Judo. In 1993, John Munoz trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Larry Bebe, then later with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt Pedro Carvalho in Monclair, CA. In late 1994, Pedro returned to Brazil, leaving Sixth Degree Black Belt Joe Moreira his studio.

This school is where it is at! You know you are in a great school by the amount of color in belts as well as the longevity of its members to carry through to black belt. These guys are skilled and work hard to be the best at their craft. If you are looking for the easy way to get a belt, this is not your school. Here, you will earn it and be skilled enough at each level to compete. Look around at other schools... pay attention to the color of belts and you will discover this school is the best around.

I've been training here for the past few years and I love this place. You come in and train and you have all types of body types to roll with. They also have the most Black Belts I have ever seen at a school.

Critical: Communication, Professionalism, Quality, Value
Team has no respect for people. Try’s to discriminate other jiu jitsu schools. I’ve trained here a few times and the school is all about winning does not care if they hurt there opponents or training partners. I recommend other schools in the corona area

Best jiu-jitsu, MMA, grappling and striking instruction in the Inland Empire at the best prices! John and his wife understand that everyone who comes through the doors come for different reasons; whether it's just to do a new activity to get in or stay in shape, learn self defense, compete in grappling tournaments or fight someday. The Munoz family value all of their clientele and everyone is extremely friendly. He has coached and assisted multiple World Jiu-Jitsu champions, King Of The Cage (MMA) champions and worked with a variety of past and current UFC & Bellator fighters who had great success

By far the best place for your kids (and adults) to train. Not only is the Munoz family great at teaching BJJ.They are amazing role models for your kids.
My boys have trained at C-Quence since they were 6 and 7. Now they are 21 and 20. John's teaching style had such a profound impact, that when my boys started wrestling in High school. They immediately become some of the Top wrestlers in the State. John, Claudia and the rest of the coaches also helped my boys become Kids WORLD BJJ CHAMPS.

This is a logical & rational response to Tom J's 2/3/2019 negative review.

The reviewer is claiming that children are getting hit on the spine and in the back of the head. C-Quence would never condone any such action regardless of age, but here is where the reviewer got it totally wrong. There are absolutely 100% NO CHILDREN'S MMA CLASSES available at this gym! The owner and head instructor does not believe in children's MMA and there is no sparring of this type amongst children.

For the record as of today Tom J has left 11 business reviews; every single one of them is a one

C-Quence is my go to for training when I am visiting the Riverside/Norco area. John Kvenbo Munoz is a 4th Degree Black Belt and runs an excellent school. Great instructors, great students to train with, and always a good training session.

Great group of guys , real tough , and real technical. I was in town looking for a place to train and hit them up. These guys welcomed me like i was one of their own. So if you are in Ontario and are looking for a real serious place to train hit these guys up.

This place is a gem when it comes to jiujitsu. If you are looking for a jiujitsu/MMA school, this place is it. The medals and rankings the school has earned, speaks louder than words. We moved over from another local school and the knowledge from the instructors he is amazing. The best part is you are not learning from 1 black belt. You are learning from multiple black belts. The women's program also has a female black belt instructor.

The retention rate of this school is high so don't expect to get in with a groupon like the other schools. Get in because you want to train with the

I've been a member of Cquence Jiu Jitsu (sometimes referred to by CQ BJJ) for a few years now. Recently a friend who was a member of an out of town JJ school gave me a call and was thinking about switching to C-quence ( for some reason NOT spelled Sequence! ). Telling him what's cool about CQ-BJJ gave me the idea for writing this review.
I personally don't live in Norco. I live in Riverside. Members of the club come from all over, Corona, Eastvale, Chino, Ontario Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana and even further, drive to the Norco club. The drive is way worth the work out.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing

John and Claudia brought me into their school with open arms. They showed me what it means to have true character on and off the mat. They are not there to take advantage of you and make money off you like some other schools. They want the best for their students and they believe in family. They take care of their own and I am blessed to call CQuence my family. CQ4L!!!

I have trained in many fight academies, but this is by far the best experience I've had. They cater to the casual beginner on up to professional mixed martial arts fighters. There is some real talent here, and yet the whole group is very modest.

C-Quence Jiu-Jitsu is a very good place to learn jiu-jitsu for the entire family The Munoz family make you feel like you are a part of their family when you are there. Unlike other schools they do no tolerate the "meathead attitude" everyone one there has a very positive attitude and everyone helps each other excel. My daughter has been part of their team for about a year now and absolutely loves it, she has made many new friends and her confidence has gotten so much better, she has also been getting very fit doing it. Seeing her progress in the sport and as a person had me even start

If you're looking for a place to train and improve, you can't get any better than here. I've been with the school since 2009. I'm very particular about who I train with, ethics are the biggest factor in choosing where I call home to train. Their ethics are the same as with my karate organization, which is being part of the family and not just a number or monthly paycheck.
John and his family are world class people and not just world class jiu jitsu practitioners/coaches.

Our son has tried baseball, football, and soccer. He's a little guy and is easily intimidated. He currently a student at
C-QUENCE and he has found quite passion for this sport. I admire the staff not only for giving him self confidence, but also for being great role models!

I found out about Cquence by accident. A friend of mine wanted to join a gym. You know, typical New Year's resolution, and invited me to tag along to workout. I was a little bit hesitant because I belonged to LA Fitness, but hey, an extra workout never hurts. Not only that, she mentioned working out with kettlebells, which I had been wanting to try for a long time.

First off, the place is a little intimidating. There are a lot of in shape guys and I overheard multiple stories of the previous week's championships that were won and everyone's medals, but I've had over 9

If u are looking for a legit bjj gym in the IE then look no further. John Munoz is the head black belt instructor with direct lineage from Joe Morreira.

John and his family run the gym. His wife
Claudia and son are also black belts.
There is serious credibility since there are multiple students who have won at the worlds and pan ams which are the elite tournaments.

Overall John is a straight shooter. He treats everyone the same. He keeps the peace but everyone at this gym respects one another and gets along which is a big plus.
I've made some great friends here outside of my work
