Stephen Martinez started Jiu Jitsu in 2006 and received his Black Belt in 2014 under Romie Aram. Stephen is a 2 time IBJJF Black Belt NoGi World Champion and has 18 professional fights with 11 submission victories. Jered was born in Orange but now resides in Corona, California. Through the years he has not only earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology but he also received his Black Belt from professor Stephen Martinez.
Gi and No Gi are the 2 forms of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Gi Jiu Jitsu is grappling with the use of a traditional Gi, which allows you to grab the clothing of your opponent. No Gi is grappling without the traditional uniform, instead you wear shorts and a rash guard. In no gi you cannot grab your opponent's clothing.

Whether you’re a beginner, a seasoned veteran, or a pro, Peerless has something to offer everybody. I came here as a purple belt two years ago. I was 15 lbs heavier and had mostly losses whenever I’d compete. Now I’m in the greatest shape of my life and I finally win medals. Can’t say enough good things about Peerless.

I visited this gym for the first time today, after a cordial back-and-forth with Stephen, who invited me to attend a class, via email. I got to witness the tail-end of a prior class, and noticed that the professors/instructors were attentive and patient with students. During the subsequent class, I was coached through drilling and encouraged to roll, to which I was necessarily man-handled again and again. The environment of the gym itself was friendly, and advice and tips were kindly given. Ill definitely be returning as soon as Im able.

World class jiu jitsu and World Champion instruction. If you are visiting the so cal area or just want to drop in and train. 7 days a week jiu jitsu. Family friendly environment with kids classes eveey weekend, beginning and competitive classes for all ages and levels. I've studied under professor Stephen for over 5 years and recommend this academy to anyone in the area. Whenever I go out of town I search for places to train so I felt the need to write.this post for anyone looking for World Class jiu jitsu . See you on the mats.

Professor Stephen is not only a World Champion; he's also a fierce competitor. He's great with the kids and teenagers. He has knowledge to prepare you child for competition or just self defense. Great school I have 3 of the 4 kids in the DOJO ... while the youngest will be there when she turns 3yrs old.

This place is outstanding. I came in with zero martial arts experience and was embraced from day one. Everyone is incredibly respectful and friendly, there is zero intimidating or hazing new students. Stephen is a great instructor and makes a point to give one-on-one attention to all during classes, regardless of skill level. That is saying something since there are often MMA fighters and black belts on the mats. The gym itself is always clean and has plenty of parking as well.
If you have any interest in learning Jiu Jitsu, this is the place to do it.

The hospitality and atmosphere of the school is very welcoming! Professor Stephen is a high level black belt competitor who carries himself like a true champion. Very approachable and kind. His students carry the same attitude that gives great energy to the school in addition to their great skills! Definitely recommend if you're around the Corona/Inland Empire area!
