Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can pose a serious threat to persons who are exposed to elevated levels for extended periods of time. Get it tested before you buy, and then you are in a good position to negotiate for radon remediation installation at the sellers cost. My testing is conducted with alpha spectrometry in a passive radon diffusion chamber device.
All licensed Home Inspectors in North Carolina are required to inspect and report on the same systems and parts of a home. During a home inspection, a qualified inspector takes an in-depth and impartial look at the home. A home inspection is a visual examination of the physical structure and major interior systems of a home.
All licensed home inspectors in North Carolina are required to provide a signed pre inspection agreement with specific information contained therein. The following agreement will be emailed to you upon booking an inspection and needs to be signed and returned before I can inspect the property.

We will perform a visual inspection of the home/building and provide you with a written report identifying the defects that we (1) observed and (2) deemed material.The report is only supplementary to the seller's disclosure. 3. Unless otherwise noted in this Agreement or not possible, we will perform the inspection in accordance with the current SOP according to North Carolina Home Inspector Licensure Board.

This was our second time using Matt for a home inspection and he exceeded our expectations once again. We couldn’t be there for this inspection so he sent us videos of everything which was beyond helpful. Matt is very knowledgeable and he explains things in a way that’s easy to understand. We highly recommend True Value for your next home inspection. Matt was extremely thorough and responded very quickly to any questions we had along the way. His report is very detailed and included pictures of every important detail. He showed up on time and delivered his report the same day. Matt does a good job of explaining issues with the Home in laymen’s terms and has no problem answering any types of questions. We researched and called around when looking for a home inspector. We decided to use Matt and were so happy with the service he provided. He inspected a house for us in Franklin, NC and then about a month later a house in Andrews, NC. The first inspection we met him at the house and he went over everything in great detail and gave his opinion and suggestions on fixes. Matt was on time, thorough, and professional. Matt spent more than 5 hours inspecting the 1800 sq. ft. 1954 home that we are purchasing. Matt’s inspection report gave us confidence in purchasing the home. He found several issues, and we were able to use his report to negotiate with the sellers who agreed to pay for repairs/remediation. Prices were the best I found, especially when considering how much time he spent inspecting the property and the fact that he did radon and basic water testing. Highly recommend!
