Myo was born in Rangoon, Burma. Myo's family immigrated to the United States when he was 6 years old and settled in Diamond Bar, California. After graduating from the University of California at Riverside, Myo received his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps. He has 20 years of service in the U.S. Marine Corps, both active and reserve.

Of those 20 years, eleven years have been served on active duty. During his distinguished service, Myo completed several deployments to the Middle East and Europe. He is currently serving as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Reserves. After leaving active duty, Myo worked in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device industry.
