I've known the Chatham Club since the 1980s (my Mom played squash there while I was in the nursery) and I grew up to become a member and squash player myself. The team at the Chatham Club is unparalleled - even after 30+ years, I can say this has stayed true. The facilities are well maintained from the locker rooms to the squash courts. Every time I'm back in town, I stop by to say hello, and it's like coming home. Even with the pandemic, they are finding ways to keep delivering to members while keeping everyone safe. I highly recommend them.

I’ve been meaning to post this for awhile but wanted to give a big shout out to The Chatham Club. My gym of many years has done everything possible to keep their staff employed and keep their customers safe and happy in these difficult times. They’ve been offering outdoor spin classes and boot camps and now covered outdoor cardio and strength training equipment to keep people safe and fit while some don’t feel comfortable using indoor equipment. This doesn’t even compare with any other local chain gym- Equinox, Lifetime, NYSC that simply shut their doors and did nothing to make themselves

Positive:Â Professionalism
I started working out a few weeks ago in the building since Covid happened. In lieu of being IN the building, my trainer suggested virtually working out in April. Smart way to keep members invested. My comfort always paramount! Since I've been exercising IN the building, IT'S CLEANER THAN MY HOME!! Thank you Chatham Club

Been a member since I was born...well, at least since 1988 or so....that's correct, 1988.
...I play wide-court softball squash...is there any other squash ?..lol (primary reason) and use a fitness trainer (Iron Ryan !)
This gym is (thankfully) not a cheap membership, but all equipment is top of the line and everyone, from towel guy to manager (long time friend, Darren Worts) is friendly and conscientious (did I spell that rite ?)
Geoff Mitchell has been the squash pro for as long as I've been a member...just don't play him at pool, for money....or for that matter, any other hand

I love The Chatham Club. This place makes me want to come work out!! It's clean, comfortable, welcoming, and inspiring. It's well run. The equipment is quality and current and always in good order. They do many events and little things throughout the year that make it a community. Staff and Members alike are friendly and helpful, and the… Trainers are all qualified, skilled, and genuinely nice people. They have a good variety of classes which allows me to vary my workout and try new things. I've taken many...Bootcamp, Spin, Barre, Pilates, Yoga+ and they have all been top notch. (Next I

Over the years I’ve belonged to many different gyms - too many to count. The Chatham Club stands head & shoulders above and has exceeded my expectations in every aspect. The staff is 5-star. The instructors are amazing and incredibly motivating. Their energy is infectious. Other members are supportive and fun to be around. We have events even outside the gym. Joining CC was one of the best things I did when I moved here.

I moved to NJ for a year for work and the Chatham Club is one of the things i miss the most. The wonderful people and sense of community sets this club apart from other gyms. At other clubs, I've felt like an anonymous number. At the Chatham Club, the desk staff, management, and trainers go out of their way to get to know you. The club has fun member appreciation nights with live music, drinks, and apps. They offer friendly team competitions throughout the year. I also feel that the members here tend to be friendlier and more relaxed than at other places (e.g., equinox).

I suppose I may be biased because I've worked here for a very long time, but I have only heard great reviews from members! I am also considered a member, and after being in other gyms like the Y or Lifetime, I feel extremely grateful for being able to exercise here for free. The locker rooms are always spotless, with plenty of amenities like shampoo, soap, conditioner in the showers, and hair spray, disposable razors, and mouthwash. The exercise equipment is top notch, and the classes are tough but very fun! People have come up to me and told me that they had previously left the Chatham Club

Positives: The club is very clean. Equipment is in good condition and they offer a multitude of group fitness classes. Robust youth squash program. Great for seniors as the club does cater to the older adult. Negatives: In recent years, club management appears to have lost sight of basic customer service standards. The management team of Chris, Dennis and Amanda are unresponsive to client suggestions, issues, needs etc. Also noted is the total lack of professionalism by the management as Dennis was recently overheard discussing sensitive information about a member with subordinates.

Very nice gym. Small and peaceful with great changing rooms. There aren't any kids running around so if you want a break from the Y this is the place for you. There is a creche so it is child friendly but children are not allowed on the exercise floor. They have squash courts which are always quiet during the week. Great range of classes, probably as many as at the Y.

I've been spoiled at certain times in my life.
I was born in Southern California and spent my very young years living three blocks from the beach and a short drive from Disneyland.
I got out of having to be in the band, chorus or orchestra in middle school because my mom was a PTA big shot and pulled some strings.
Every time we drove up from Jersey to Penn State to drop me off at college, the same mom would stop at the beer distributor and pick me up a case of Yuengling.
And The Chatham Club was the first gym I ever went to.
But being spoiled doesn't always have its privileges
