The area surrounding our location is home to many exciting attractions and sites. Members of the hotel staff are happy to recommend attractions, dining, shopping and more. Half Moon Bay & the coastside area are home to year round festivals, the most stunning and pristine beaches, a quaint historical main street, a working harbor and some of the most delectable restaurants and eateries.
My husband and I stayed here last night and thought the place was adorable and a great value. We're glad we ignored some of the negative reviews and tried it out. We were lucky to stay on a night where the ocean view penthouse was free and they gave us an upgrade.
We LOVED the room with its vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors, modern furniture and colorful, clean palette *ocean greens, blues and white, Lots of windows and a fantastic view from the balcony.It's over 100 years old and has a lot of history. They have a fun bakery and cafe which seems popular with the locals.

The Ocean View Inn is my new favorite spot. I like the privacy and size of the rooms. I had the opportunity to peek into most of the rooms during my stay. I have stayed in #3 and #1. If you are there for more than one night, room #1 is the way to go. The service is excellent.
My only recommendation for improvement is better lighting in the bathroom in room #1; it's a bit creepy at night and impossible to do your makeup. Maybe provide a makeup mirror with lighting.

Yes this place is nice. Yes this place is clean, etc, etc.. We booked an ocean view room at the top of the building, months in advance only to be told 1 week before arriving that the room was not available. We were also told, by the same person that originally booked our room, that breakfast waffles, freshly prepared on the premises, would be available in the morning. Well, our room overlooked a street & some businesses in the back of the hotel and the waffles were anything but fresh and homemade. They were in fact frozen & packaged in plastic. I am so glad I found this place. Stayed here just this weekend (oct 1-3rd) originally was going to be staying at the Oceano last weekend but we had to switch to this weekend and change hotels and I am so happy we did. All the ladies who work here are all so nice. They always greeted us as we walked in and left. We stayed in the ocean view penthouse and it was amazing! So clean and just such a super chill spot. I definitely recommend this place and I cannot wait to go back to stay here again!

This establishment gave me the very worst service. They ruined my daughter's wedding night. I had ordered the penthouse suite for her. The front desk clerk Mimi did not follow my instruction she dropped the ball and the owner backed her up. So this man has my $410.84 and refuses to return it in good faith. He offered to comp me a room which I declined on principle. I would never step foot in this establishment ever not even for a compt room. That wedding night was ruined. That very important night can't be taken back

Lovely room. Nice accommodations. Only met one staff member, but she was super nice and helpful. We even received a call a few hours before arrival telling us that we were being upgraded to the top floor penthouse at no extra charge. We only stayed on midweek night, but just a very thoughtful thing to do. I truly appreciated the upgraded and this place is a real gem. We will be back!

This quiet gem sits across from the gorgeous, deserted Montara beach. The inn is flanked by a liquor store and a deli - you can't really ask for more, but the world's best lobster roll is five minutes south, and world's best crab sandwich 5 minutes east, just in case. Spacious, modern, warm rooms have views over the water - with the penthouse providing an ultimate, 180 degree view through windows and a spacious patio perched above the tree line. Staff Dina, Miami, & Rosie took exceptional care of us. They were incredibly kind with my children, helping them gather continental breakfast every day

Let me just begin by saying this " you must take a trip to this beachy little town and stay in this hotel". My partner and I stayed in the Garden Room and it was beautiful. Inside the room it really felt like you are staying in a rustic modern cabin somewhere in the Mountains except you are literally across from the beach! The place was clean, quiet and the staff was polite. I also think it's important to point out this is a black owned business, so please support it !! You will not be disappointed

Our families new favorite vacation spot! We have been living in Fremont for 30yrs and never new the city Montara even existed. We are so happy to have now found this Hidden Gem and the owners are doing a wonderful job by making it a great experience for all families. The staff was welcoming and the location is perfect. Pretty much a half way mark between Half moon Bay and Pacifica. Multiple great beaches to choose from for the whole family. One more thing we loved was how easy and convenient it was to get your breakfast delivered to your door by filling out a sheet the night before. Perfect! We

Our family had such an amazing time here last weekend. We were able to stay in the garden penthouse and absolutely loved it. So cozy and had a very big balcony to really enjoy your morning coffee while you look out to the ocean. Not to mention the great care/service we received from the staff. Loved the location as it is only 10mins from Half moon bay and 8mins from Pacifica. Our family even took a day trip to San Francisco! Highly recommend this place for your next vacation. This place is a hidden gem!!! It's quite, CLEAN, and very comfortable and BEAUTIFUL! The staff is nice and displayed great customer service! The ocean view was beautiful. We stayed here in early November and it was cozy with breathtaking view. During so many COVID restrictions they made us feel safe and still managed to bring us breakfast to our room. Walking distance to the beach and delicious dinning. We will definitely be back . Highly recommend!!!!! Andrea is great and her place will make you want to come back every single time!!!!

I'm a coast side local and can't believe I've never stayed here!! The people who run this place, especially Andrea, are superstars and the hotel is so much more personable and better than the big named hotels nearby. I have never been so taken care of at a hotel. I had to host my wedding guests here and Andrea really made us feel cared for and was very helpful much more than she even needed to be with all my needs and annoying requests. She had a lot of great ideas for guest check in, was so helpful and was very communicative with me at all

First I will start by saying the family who runs this building is very welcoming and very nice. I enjoyed my stay there, we were located right next to a liquor store where we could get anything we needed, the family who owned it was very friendly. The inn had a variety of breakfast snacks and drinks. Oatmeal, yogurts, boiled eggs, cheese and lots of drinks and cereal too. They allow access into the building 24.7 as long as you had a key card to get through the front door after hours, so we felt extremely safe and secure. The room was huge, beautiful wide layout. I came here for a night to get out of the bay area. After a busy day at the beach, it was an amazing place to relax and replenish. I stayed in the ocean view penthouse. The room was elegant, and I particularly enjoyed the ocean view from the balcony. Staff were all polite and informative. Ample parking, which is quite unique for the area. One night with the ocean waves put my mind at ease. Snacks downstairs for breakfast. I had time to explore many local points of interest including restaurants and trails. I wish I would've booked more nights!

So happy we found this place. The lady at the front desk gave us an upstairs room with a view because she had the availability. Room 5 was nice and clean and well kept. I loved the slider with access to a lounge area on the patio outside of our room. I am a big fan of the laminate floors! I hate carpet! You can tell they invested a lot of money into making this place nice and comfortable for guests.
