House of Yoga started from humble beginnings. Our first space in the City of York, Pennsylvania, was the size of a large walk-in closet. The room fit about 10 mats comfortably (although we occasionally squeezed in a few more) with a small, loyal following of students and one teacher. We met as a community twice a week for close to two years.
All of our classes were donation based, which went to covering our monthly rent. That space-with its crooked floors and dodgy space heater on full blast-kept us warm in a place where we moved, breathed, and grew. We lovingly called it Mexico-our place to allow everything to flow. Here, yogis grew to support one another, with no judgments and no agenda.

Reiki is a form of energy healing that taps into the universal life energy as a source of healing. During Reiki, a therapeutic energy healer transfers this universal life energy to individuals through a laying of hands either on or near their bodies. A Reiki session can help improve your physical well-being, sharpen your mental focus, stimulate emotional healing, reduce stress, and help you relax.

So this is not necessarily a bad review because I went with two other friends that are very fit. Me , myself as a plus size woman was having severe difficulties in a class that was described as for “EVERYBODY”. I really wanted to enjoy this but it felt strongly Christian base and weirdly white washed meditation. I think there’s absolutely something here for somebody I just don’t think it’s here for me. I felt very pressured to compete with the rest of the classroom as a beginner with a Target Matt and very little guidance from a teacher. Teachers voice felt kind but energy was a little

I had the opportunity to sample a class during "no sweat york " and I enjoyed it. My 2 friends wanted to try it. Jason greeted so warm and welcoming made such a positive first impression. Room was very warm, which I thought I would feel claustrophobic or get too hot that I would have to stop, but it never bothered me. Class was relaxing yet intense. Jason was awesome. He gave us modified moves or he helped you to perfect the move, he was very encouraging. I definitely am feeling the effects hours after the class. Iwill go again. Enjoyed it a lot.

Where do I even begin? I took a class at noon on a Wednesday and I haven't done yoga in years! Not only was everyone super nice and inviting, but there was no annoying pressure to purchase classes.
The instructor incorporated meditation in his class and it really helped me unwind. I didn't feel like an outcast for not being a professional yogi and I received all the help and guidance I needed.
I didn't think so many kind and genuine people could fit in a room, but this place proved me wrong. It's no wonder this studio manages to stay afloat with a donation based policy

This is a very cool studio! Located in historic downtown York, Pennsylvania. It is in a renovated row home. Beautiful warm hardwood floors and amazing architecture. Staff is welcoming and very open. My class size was small but I did hear that classes fill up. You need to enter on the side of the building - which is a very cool courtyard/mews vibe. I parked on the street at a meter. I will definitely practice here when I'm in York! Recommend checking it out! I'm headed back tomorrow to get my Sunday flow on! Namaste. #zenaf

Do you know about this place? At the writing of this review they have only been at this location for about 3 weeks. You can find the studio at the corner of Cherry Lane and Market. There is metered street parking OR you can park at one of the two locations on Philadelphia St. and cut through Cherry Land (right next to the Central Market)
It is a donation based yoga studio...cool, right? All are welcomed
