Raising an adolescent these days is one of the most important tasks you take on as an adult. In our fast pace and extremely competitive world, sometimes our children struggle and it is hard to know what to do to help. We provide support for many teen issues such as ADHD, school performance, depression, social skills, anxiety, relationship struggles and bullying.
My name is Evelyn and I am the owner of Windows of Opportunity Counseling Services. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have been practicing psychotherapy for almost 32 years. I love what I do and feel privileged to be able to do what I am passionate about, which is helping people, supervising clinicians as they apply Emotionally Focused Therapy.
To help provide calm and peace, Evelyn has a hypoallergenic therapy dog with her during sessions. For those who are uncomfortable with animals, Sugar can be crated and put out of sight. No worries. However, most people enjoy her calming presence. She is very quiet and loving. She had her training as a therapy and hospice dog several years ago when she joined Evelyn's family.

Evelyn is one of the best therapists you can find in the Newark/Union City/Fremont area. I highly recommend her for anyone that is looking for a new therapist or looking for their very first one.
She has experience dealing with a variety of people coming from different situations. I've been working with her for several years at this point. I would describe her approach as gentle, inquisitive, relatable, and very patient. She has impacted the quality of my life and relationships in ways that is hard to describe.
