The Lake House Lodge
Among the oldest hotels in central New York, the Lake House provides access to the attractions in the Cooperstown area and to the natural beauty of the Leatherstocking Region's countryside. Built in 1843, today the Lake House includes a restaurant and lodging on the shore of Lake Canadarago as well as separate hotel facilities at the Baseball Hotel, in the village limits of historic Richfield Springs.

The Lake House has been a beacon of hospitality, drawing travelers from all quarters to its welcoming doors since 1843. We're a full-service family-run establishment steeped in history and updated with modern conveniences. The most scenic weddings in upstate New York happen at the Lake House by the shores of Canadarago Lake.
Services
Welcome to the Lake House a unique and special place to dine with family, friends or business colleagues. Well known in the area for dining, the Lake House is famous for its charm and style. From both the dining room and the tavern, guest can watch the lake, experience the beautiful sunsets and relax.
In the 1920s it was a speakeasy and a favorite country retreat for gangster Jack "Legs" Diamond who used the Lake House as his summer home. There was a trap door in the floor of the first story leading to a room in the back corner of the basement with an old fashioned tin ceiling. It's here, we believe, he stored illegal liquor and hid from the reveneurs that came looking for him.
The greatest baseball players in history live on in the National Baseball Hall of Fame, Cooperstown's leading tourist attraction. The Fenimore Art Museum safeguards local art history by displaying the great works of the past to connect people to our shared cultural heritage. Winner of numerous awards for its fine beer crafted in the Belgian tradition, Brewery Ommegang is located in the scenic countryside just south of Cooperstown.
Everything that goes on at the Lake House unfolds within view of the expansive blue waters of Canadarago Lake. Musicians perform on the outdoor concert stage a handful of yards away from the water. Guests staying in most of the rooms on the second or third floors of the Lodge awaken to the lake's sweeping vista, while those staying in the unitson the grounds can step out of their doors to explore the lakefront.
