His message was that that while my donation added days to my friend's life, it would add life to my days.
Gevurtz Menashe was Founded on Families and continues to provide Solutions and Support Through Life's Toughest Transitions. Families come to Gevurtz Menashe at pivotal moments in their lives. They may be hurting, distraught, anxious or angry.

Whether they're separating, remarrying, welcoming a new life, or seeking counsel in other family matters, it's critical to have an advocate who understands the intricacies of the law and knows how to communicate their interests. When the dust settles, clients want the best possible outcome-and this is exactly what Gevurtz Menashe provides.

Our clients have a lifetime to sift through, and are often unsure about how to protect or pass on what they've built. They deserve the peace of mind that comes from knowing their legacy will endure.
Gevurtz Menashe has highly experienced attorneys who represent minors, parents, or guardians in family law, juvenile court, and probate proceedings involving children. We can help navigate the sometimes complex legal systems and issues involving children, including when multiple courts or jurisdictions are involved.
Even the most difficult divorce cases can benefit from the use of Collaborative Law which is why we dedicated an entire section of our website to this approach. Collaborative law is a relatively new and innovative method of dispute resolution in which the attorneys and the parties work collaboratively to achieve an outcome that is fair and acceptable to both parties.

Excellent service. We wanted an estate plan. Meredith walked us through the options, pointed out some considerations we had not thought of, and prepared all of the documents quickly. Signing was a breeze with witnesses provided. We look forward to working with Meredith in the future.

Maybe the other GM attorneys are better, but Robin Wright--although a very intelligent person--was very passive about everything except coming up w ways to increase billable hours with no benefit (and sometimes harm) to me and my child. She was completely outmanuevered by the other attorney.

I was in an urgent situation and needed representation. I had contact with another lawyer in this firm years ago and she was too busy. After hearing my situation, they recommended Kathy Root. She is a "top lawyer' (most expensive) and I retained her. In hindsight, I should have shopped around, but was new to this experience and was frankly in a panic. I fired Kathy after 5 months and nearly $30,000 spent. She was completely inconsistent, sometimes not responding to emails for several days, even weeks. Follow through was unpredictable and advice was sometimes inaccurate. Significant mistakes

Unethical. For adults with kids this is not the firm to use. They use the kids' well-being as leverage in the divorce fight. A Gevurtz attorney has held up obtaining services that would have protected our kid's mental health for nearly a year now. There are other firms that look out for the kids while capably representing their parents. Kids should not have to suffer more than they already do.

I used Kali Jensen for Estate Planning and Mark Barzda for my divorce. I couldn't have hoped for a more supportive team during one of the most stressful times of my life. I highly recommend them!

Thanks again,

I highly recommend Gevurtz Menashe, specifically Charles J Weber. I was thrilled that I found such a great attorney to help me with my divorce. He was very responsive, helpful, and willing to help as much or as little as I needed based on my unique situation. He clearly explained the applicable laws and ensured I was well prepared with all the facts needed to discuss the situation with my now ex-spouse. I knew I was in good hands when working with Charles and it made the situation much less stressful.

My wife and I have been working with Amy and she's fantastic! Very good at explaining complicated legal stuff, and super thorough; she's always made sure to give us detailed instructions when we need to do something, and she's gone back and made multiple edits to various contracts to make sure they perfectly reflect what what we wanted. We'll definitely be working with Amy again in the future!

We had a complicated estate issue involving assets in California and Oregon. The issue was too complicated for another Portland legal group.
However, Amy Cross was able to quickly and efficiently undo the Gordian knots and resolve all of the issues.

After dealing with numerous estate attorneys over these decades, she easily ranks in the top 1%. She understands all of the key issues, what needs to be done, pays attention to the numerous details, and pursues the needed actions until everything is done. She is exceptionally responsive. This is an important element of being a great estate attorney

My husband called yesterday for a consult for representation. He already filed for contempt on multiple violations his ex had, as well as filed a modification to the existing court order. His ex and her attorney had filed a response to the modification with statements that aren't true, (he has documented evidence filed in the contempt case that proves otherwise), thus she perjured herself. My husband was told he'd get a call back, but didn't. He called again today, and again didn't get a call back. Frustrating when we saw all the great reviews on Avvo and google. Apparently

My experience with Gervurtz Menashe during what is a life changing event for me and not a happy one, was handled with the utmost care and sensitivity. I did not want it to be, for the lack of a better term, ugly. I wanted it handled professionally and not get personal. They did that for me. My family is important and as the parents we still need to be there for them. My team respected this wish and performed amazingly well.
They were fair and honest and available when ever I needed them. They respected my wishes even if there was a difference of opinion.
I have nothing but respect for this firm

An attorney in this firm represented my minor son in a dissolution of marriage case. This attorney was provided a report from a nationally recognized PsyD expert in Child Abuse that indicated a DSM diagnosis of Child Psychological Abuse (V995.51). In my opinion, the attorney is a "mandatory reporter" as defined in Oregon Child Abuse reporting laws. My understanding is, only DHS has the authority to investigate and make determinations regarding abuse. That, mandatory reporters must "immediately" report to DHS if there is a reasonable belief abuse has occurred. I have no evidence

They have sent me other client's letters, information, etc. I've had to edit their documents. AND they are extremely slow in filing and making anything happen. Mistakes are frequent with this firm. They sent me someone else's $6,000 check with the same name as me. It's a good thing I have integrity and did the right thing in returning it; however, the lawyer I was working with is still pompous. LOOK somewhere else!

I feel fortunate to have worked with Mark. He is genuinely kind, detail oriented and dangerously intelligent. Mark brings the relational aspect of legal work into family law. He is dedicated to helping his clients and their children transition to a new life filled with possibility, security and hope. If you're looking for an attorney who sees you as an individual, one who cares about the kind of life you live after the papers are signed, Mark is your man!
The staff at Gevurtz Menashe is courteous and very professional. A shout out to Shawn whose hallway greetings brought recognition and playfulness

If you like giving all your money to a law firm and get NO RESULTS, then this is the firm for you. They will not fight for your rights. They don't care about fathers. They don't listen to you. They try to bully you into seeing things you their way. They don't enforce following the laws that govern family law. The spend/waste time with back in forth chats when you have already stated your position. You are given one attorney then keep getting pasted down to cheaper and less experienced attorneys. We had a great reference for this firm and it has left us stressed, disappointed in the

1 star because the people at the desk are very nice, the offices are very clean & looks to be very organized, the building is in a safe area with a covered parking garage nearby, & the over-all look of the company had a homey easy going feel to it.
Potential client, I want to make clear to you that I am only speaking of those lawyers whom I have had personal contact with, but first some advice... if you are looking for a lawyer to protect you from a narcissist don't take the lawyers word for it that they understand them. Research questions to ask the lawyer & let them prove that

Shawn Menashe and Mark Bardza and Nakia Bradley-Lawson are a dream team. My divorce was incredibly complicated involving a family business and teenagers. Shawn and Mark were able to sort through the facts, keep the drama at a minimum and provided me with the best legal council available. Nakia ensured that all of the supporting materials were… collected and organized, kept all of us on task, and intuitively gave appropriate emotional support when it was needed. Shawn, Mark and Nakia always treated me with respect and compassion. When my 18 year old son had questions about the case, Shawn
