Smok'n Bones is a family run, 60-seat BBQ restaurant in upstate New York featuring slow smoked BBQ fare and American cuisine with a full catering menu and off-site and on-site catered options. Tortilla chips topped with homemade chili, cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes & onions, jalapenos, salsa & sour cream.
Chipolte pesto, Monterey Jack, fresh tomatoes, fire-roasted onions and peppers with a zig zag of jalapeno ranch. Beef brisket, pepperoni, fire roasted onions & peppers, jalapenos with melted Pepper Jack cheese, open-faced on garlic Texas Toast. Smok'n Bones catered my wedding and they were great! Ray was a pleasure to work with in terms of creating the menu.

Family and i ran into this little place and left extremely dissatisfied. The food was absolutely disgusting. The beef brisket was soggy and tasteless, the wings were dry and old. The nachos looked like it came out from a week old chip bag. And the chicken looked so old. We did not give anything more then two bites because the way the food looked was atrocious and the bites we did take tasted exactly how it looked. I’m so glad i don’t live in this area with limited food options. It makes me appreciate the amount of delicious food my city has to offer (Jersey city, NJ) If you want to have a bad

The food was fabulous-hot and fresh and cooked to perfection. The waitress topped the food with her permanent and infectious smile , her knowledge f the many menu items, her patience while we decided and her… ability to know what we wanted before we Ben had to ask. I highly recommend dining here and maybe will see you bc we will definitely be going back many more times

Definitely a hidden gem.... had the stuffed haddock... WOW it was absolutely fabulous. Was definitely one of the best haddock dishes I've ever had. It had a cornbread stuffing, which doesn't sound that special but it was over the top GREAT. Everything we had, sweet potatoes, baked beans, ribs, mac n cheese..... it was all very very good. Must also mention that the service and prices were great too. Will definitely be going back soon.

Not impressed. Food was just okay. However the ribs, were close to uneatable, fatty, very little meet, couldn't separate bones. Wings were okay, again one was uneatable not sure even a wing. Perhaps could overlook, but had to wait over an hour for this sub par meal. Nothing on tap only bottles. Won't be going back.

Food was uninspiring. The lack of effort was evident. Service was poor. We were greeted quickly then seated quickly as well as drink order taken quickly… then service seemed to drop off as they got busier. Only 2 wait staff and one seemed more interested in looking at all the orders than, checking on customers. I love good nachos especially at BBQ joints after about 1/2 we received the nachos- what a disappointment. The chips used were the round style - cheapest sort like you’d find at a carnival, ball stadium, etc. it was supposed to have their chili on (no beans) I found such a lack of chili

We tried a the pulled pork dinner and the brisket dinner. It was okay. The pulled pork had a chilly esk sauce on it. It was cooked well and we got a large portion but it wasn't anything special. The brisket was shaved thin and mixed with a mustard base sauce. Again it wasn't anything special. If anything they were hiding sub par barbecue. The sides, loaded salt potatoes were okay but it was kinda a joke how little they were loaded. Buttered corn was just plain corn. Coleslaw was bland and sweet. The beans were very bland also. I mean they would be better

Got take out, but wish I read more reviews before spending my money here. I’ve had BBQ in Atlanta, NJ, NY, TN, and PA, but I have never had such peculiar brisket..... it was honestly more like shaved beef you would get in a Chinese restaurant covered in a sweet mustard sauce. I don’t know how they can call it brisket... it was chewy and hard to cut. The Ribs had a nice flavorful rub (under the sauce) but they were chewy and covered in too much sauce. They seemed to be boiled or baked as they lacked any smoky flavor. The corn bread and coleslaw were the best parts of the whole experience and

The restaurant is clean and decorated nicely. The service is friendly, accommodating and very professional. The food was okay. I order the BBQ combo with my two side choices being the corn and string beans. The entree was very underwhelming.... I’ve had BBQ in Texas, Memphis, Georgia, Kentucky, New Jersey, Arizona and many other places as a comparison. There was absolutely no smoke flavor whatsoever. I noticed this also when parking as I didn’t smell the usual BBQ pit smell.
The pork ribs were very, very sweet and too saucy for my liking. The BBQ beef brisket was not what I was expecting at

Usually when coming to a BBQ joint there should be a couple of things. One being actual smoke, my first warning was pulling into the parking lot and not smelling smoke or a form of fire.
We ate the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend with a large party. The server was great, she was the only reason this review isn't 1 star. We arrived at 6:30ish learned they were out of Ribs and Macaroni salad. Ok.. strike 2.
We ordered the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizers. This was pretty darn good. Very well made and the cornbread stuffing was solid.
I probably should have only ordered sides because the brisket

I really, really wanted to give this place more stars but in good conscience I can't. The waitress was a sweetheart. I love local, hometown, mom and pop establishments... that being said the food here was mediocre. My husband ordered a sampler of their meets. The ribs looked as if they were doused in kraft barbecue sauce. I ordered the brisket and honestly, it was on the dry side and the sauce that was used on that was ehh... ketchup like. The decor is folksie and there are beautiful tin ceiling tiles in the restaurant. l love that! Maybe a weekend visit would be better. I'm just unsure

The prices weren't bad. I had the brisket and it was not a brisket cut I have been a custom to. It was slices very thin and the bbq sauce was very sweet. Almost sickeningly. The service was very slow and no existing. I only gave a two star because I felt sorry for the waitress. There was only one an the place was fairly busy. I would not stop here again.

Smokin' Bones is another Burdett gem. You are greeted by a friendly server and that heavenly BBQ smell. It was hard to choose but we settled on wings to start (they were crispy, and spicy) but later regretted not getting the nachos after seeing them come out for another table. Next time! The brisket was tender and coated in a delicious sauce that was both sweet and tangy. The owner/chef makes it from scratch. The mac n cheese was creamy and cheesy. The cornbread was sweet, just like it should be. Now the baked bean...they were divine. Smoky, oniony, sweet. Really good. The pulled pork

I love this place. I try to get out there every two weeks or so, even though it's quite the trek. The pulled pork is fantastic - much better than Dinosaur BBQ. The portions are huge, and it's a great value - less than $10 for more food than I can finish. You get a huge entrees of meat, two sides (I highly recommend the mashed sweet potatoes and buttered corn) and cornbread. Service is extremely fast. The place is usually pretty quiet, which is probably unfortunate for business, but nice for dining.
