Originally from New York, Dave has an invaluable work ethic and infectious positive attitude. As he oversees the daily operations at A Cut Above Catering, he is also an owner and husband to Chef Amy. This enthusiastic Giants fan motivates the team by empowering them to do well and is always working right alongside them, leading by example.

Every fork and every packed truck that goes out to events is cared for due to his diligence and thoughtful precision. Dave enjoys spending time with the family and golfing. Derek is a perfect example of a hard worker and he has a constant need to learn and improve himself.
Services
With a keen eye for design and a depth of resources at our fingertips, our event planners can conceptualize, execute, and manage your event. And it doesn't just stop at the food. We can guide you on finding your perfect venue, we can source decor and equipment, and provide all you need to keep your guests entertained.
Each class begins with chef prepared appetizers in conjunction with the theme of your class. You are then led through approximately 1 1/2 hours of hands-on instruction with the chef. Following the instruction, you will then sit down and enjoy your freshly prepared meal.

At the end of the class, you will take home the recipes you made along with the quick prep tips and techniques you learned from our chef so you can re-create the dishes in your home kitchen.Beer and wine are offered for an additional cost throughout your event. Beer and wine are typically not included in the price of the class, unless otherwise stated.
We've expanded with a new dining area, available for your next event. There is an on-suite restroom, bar, tv, free parking, nearby accommodations, and you can choose from our wide selection of catering options. 1,200 sq ft event space, three customizable spaces, numerous floor plans, recently renovated, hardwood floors, high ceilings.
Sharpen your competitive edge with Indianapolis' unique team-building experience, the Final Cut Challenge at A Cut Above!. You will be divided into teams, and each team will be given a mystery basket with themed ingredients. Then it is up to your team to create a dish to present to the judges, with no recipes and no help from your smart phone, just your cumulative cooking knowledge and experience.

A Cut Above catered our wedding and hosted our rehearsal dinner earlier this month and everything was incredible! From the food to the service to the prompt responses of our constant questions, Shaina and the rest of the A Cut Above team were on top of everything. We wanted to serve breakfast for dinner during our reception, and we were extremely nervous about how our guest would like it. A Cut Above created the perfect menu that satisfied those that enjoyed breakfast food and those who preferred a more typical dinner time meal. A Cut Above provided catering for our wedding earlier this month and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice! Shaina helped make the process so easy for us, and as important as that was - the food also tastes incredible! Hosted a Bachelorette Party here and would highly recommended!
Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They changed the menus for dietary restrictions without issue.
Communication throughout the planning process was easy and efficient. Did everything via email and had great response time.
Food was amazing and the class itself was a blast. Class can be as hands-on as you need pending your experience. There are multiple staff members in the kitchen to assist.

We had them cater our daughter's wedding. They were prompt in delivering the food and the owner was there to oversee everything. The food--chicken cacciatore, short ribs and eggplant Parmesan--was tasty. The ice cream bar they provided was so good. They staff was very efficient and even helped with the cupcake serving. All-in-all an excellent experience.

The food… oh my the food. Incredible. We knew the moment we went for the food tasting that we had made the right choice! Shaina at A Cut Above was very helpful and committed to making the food and beverage at our wedding perfect. From the Key Largo Rum Runners to the carving station, and from the wild-caught salmon to the exemplary champagne - we were 100% pleased with everything and highly recommend Shaina and A Cut Above for all your catering needs… just make sure you and your guests show up hungry!

I was recently in Carmel as a guest presenter for a wedding and events industry event where A Cut Above provided the food. Having a culinary background, I tend to be very fussy about food and rarely eat before speaking.

The event had a Tea Party theme, and as it was the group's first in-person event in 18 months, they wanted to keep things low touch. A Cut Above created unique tea-time-themed bento boxes. Each box contained a small Mixed Green Salad, a Scone with Raspberry Jam, a Macaron, and two Tea Sandwiches.

On Thursday, April 22 Chef Amy held A Night in Tuscany virtual cooking class to benefit Carmel Clay Public Library. What a fun and wonderful way to spend an evening!

A HUGE thank you to the ACA team for an amazing virtual cooking class. Shoshana was a delight to work with. She was extremely helpful and responded quickly to all my group needs. Amy is an amazing chef and brings so much fun to the event with her humor and engaging personality. My coworkers had an amazing time cooking "A Night in Tuscany" and the food was delicious. Everything was prepackaged, measured, and labeled to make the process so easy. My group had a fantastic time cooking and laughing together via Zoom. Heathy Cooking - Fabulous! I really enjoyed my first class with Amy. She is OUTSTANDING with her not only her cooking instruction, but she makes the class fun with her lively personality. This class is not only hands-on cooking, but also a night where you eat the wonderful food SERVED to you and there is wine and beer for purchase. I would highly recommend ANY of Amy's classes and will take others this year!

Hire this business! You will not be disappointed. Amy and Shoshana and the others with A Cut Above catered an absolutely amazing Holiday party for our office staff. The service and food and decor where unmatched. Everyone is very professional, takes pride in what they do and were seamless in teamwork. In the planning process, they were so creative, always responsive and communicated and collaborated during the entire pre-party process. My husband and I were so pleased with the results and are ever-so glad we found A Cut Above and entrusted them.

Came here for the Date Night in Tuscany cooking class. The $125 price per couple included cold appetizers of cheeses, crackers, veggies, and fruit; sea scallops for the first course, veal/chicken piccata and gnocchi with broccolini for the main course; cannoli for dessert; and a glass of Chianti. I originally thought that price seemed a bit steep but when you factor in the cooking lessons and the fact that this is your evening entertainment, it makes more sense.

Cooking was done in two kitchens with approximately five couples in each kitchen at a time. We learned how to make gnocchi first which
