Doug's Fish Fry was established in 1982. Since then we have expanded our dining room and our menu. Now we offer Doug's Fish Fry ToGo! You can now get the same great food, high-quality, and friendly service that you receive at our restaurant for your next function or gathering. We have a refrigerated truck and concession trailer that we will use to prepare and cook your food to order at your event as you enjoy the day!
A favorite place for Fairgoers features spectacular arrangements of colorful plants and flowers, outdoor gardens and an indoor waterfall. Tour displays presented by the Wildlife Art Organization. Visit the inner courtyards with meticulously maintained gardens of shrubs and flowers planted by New York State Nurserymen.

Doug's Fish Fry is the best fried fish seafood restaurant in the state of New York, rivals any fried seafood fare outside of places right on the ocean, and still manages to be better than most of those too.
The fish is cooked perfectly for a decent price and is always consistent whether you get it from the restaurant or one of their food trucks.
The scallops are unmatched by anything at any fried seafood restaurant and are comparable to the prime catches at an oceanfront restaurant.
The clams are the best and highest quality clam strips I've ever had. They go toe-to-toe with the best fried whole

Wow. This was perfect. Its been so long, what with the COVID and all. Still a huge tasty slab of fish with a bun trying to contain it, but failing miserably. While I waited, I walked to the back to mix up my fav, a side cup of Tabasco and lemon-about 2:1. PLUS a side of malt vinegar, which smells like mean old man sweat but adds a great twang to the fried stuff. I remember working at the gas station that used to be on the corner next to Doug's when Doug's was young...Damn, dinner tonight brought me back to the day when Doug's made takeout great again.

Doug's Fish, with it original restaurant in Skaneateles, New York, expanded several years ago. This location seems to be the only expansion that continues to this day. I am glad that it has. Over the years I have eaten here by myself and with my family, whenever traveling on the back side of Cortland, New York along route 281.

Very good lunch meal prices including drink, fried fish (“sándwich” with multiple pieces but I just removed the bun and treated like fish and chips), with fries or onion rings option plus coleslaw. Coleslaw was good. Like the tarter sauce and they don’t skimp with it. Onion rings really good. Enjoyed the fish of course. Wish they had real lemon instead of lemon juice packets.

Stopped through Skaneateles on the way home from a road trip. Was walking through downtown on a chilly fall day and came across this place.
Ended up getting a bunch of things to try - cider, hot and cold. Fish sandwich was good - crispy on the outside. Apple fritters were probably my favorite!
They also have an array of dipping sauces which I enjoyed. Would recommend stopping by for a quick bite. Lots of seating.

Excellent fish and sides. I'm not from the area but I can't overstate how good this was, I want to go again and introduce my new-to-the-area friends to this place
I only had the shrimp Po Boy since i was alone, but when a place gets everything right I can't help wanting to have more. The cole slaw was perfect, fresh, crunchy, just the right amount of sweetness. The bun for the sandwich was really good, I don't know if they're handmade, but it was delicious. And those people know how run their counter, efficient and friendly.

Delicious fish! White flakey excellent. Fries are perfect! I usually visit the area around lunchtime for a reason!
Wish they had outside seating, wish they had coke products, that's all a small fish in the big sea of taste!

3.5*** the food was fine but definitely feels overhyped. The lobster roll was awesome though! It was very delicious in that they used garlic bread as the bun, very unique. The size was pretty big as well. I was disappointed though because the prices were higher than was advertised in a menu outside. I felt a bit tricked. For example the lobster roll ended up being $4 more than the menu outside - so please be aware. We also tried the fish sandwich. Size was big but tastes like any other fish sandwich. Same as the shrimp dinner we had. The beer and wine were good value though. The place was really

They absolutely know how to fry a piece of fish here. The chicken and shrimp skewers are really good too. I personally don't like the chowder that much. Yes, it had some flavor, but it was missing seasoning and was a bit watery to me. Really though, consistency is the hallmark here, so if you like something, know it will be exactly the same next time.

If you've heard of this place, then I'm sure its reputation already precedes it.
The fish sandwiches were great.
The lobster roll was as good as any I've ever had and the bun was a toasted garlic butter masterpiece.
Looking around on the lauded and historied walls you can tell that not only is the restaurant good, but it is adored and a staple of the community and region which speaks volumes to me.

Found this place while passing through the town. They excellent fish and chips, sandwiches and po-boys. Everything is made fresh and served hot. They also provide great tasting sauces and Cole slaw on the side. Staff was very nice as as well. They keep the place clean. Always better to eat at these hidden gems vs chain restaurants. Definetly recommended.
