Dr. Marie Callen has served patients as a Cincinnati Pediatric Dentist for more than 20 years. She earned her Dental Medicine Doctorate from the University of Puerto Rico in 1992. After two years of General Practice Residency for Hospital Dentistry in Charlotte, North Carolina, she decided to specialize in Pediatric Dentistry.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends the parents establish a Dental Home for their children by age 1 to help them institute a lifetime of good oral health. A dental home addresses anticipatory guidance, acute/emergency care, comprehensive and preventive care. It is also where referral can be made to other dental specialists if needed.
We dedicate a large focus of our practice to providing preventive dental care for our patients. This includes check ups and exams twice a year, hygiene services and scheduled cleanings, preventive fluoride treatments and sealants, plus much more. Additionally, we make it a priority to help your children understand the importance of proper oral hygiene at home.
While they can seem "disposable" as kids will eventually lose them, primary teeth, commonly known as "baby teeth, " are vital to your children's dental and oral. Proper brushing technique eliminates plaque build-up from the outer, inner and chewing surfaces of your child's teeth. When instructing your child how to correc.

This dentist was recommended to us by a friend, and she used to be ok for a while. But the office has steadily been going downhill. The staff has been getting more and more arrogant and difficult to deal with. The doctor herself seems to hurry through explanations, if any, and pushes frequent x-rays a little too eagerly. The specialists she recommends also seem to be similar, too eager to do invasive (=expensive) procedures and not too keen on explaining what they are doing. She lost my trust. Taking my kids elsewhere.

Fantastic experience with the entire staff. We recently visited for the first time and were received very joyfully. Marie is an amazing individual and fantastic at what she does. These offices are also beautiful and colorful (who knew that a dentist office could feel as happy as a candy store). So happy to have this be the place our kids will have their teeth taken care of for years to come. Wishing I could get a bag with toys too. :)

Me and my son visited the dentist recently due to an emergency infection.After a 40 minute wait they took us back and started cleaning his teeth even though that’s not what I wanted to get. The doctor came and took X-rays and saw that there was an infection and had to pull his teeth out. She took my son by himself and said I couldn’t come back with him. 5 minutes later the dentist came out yelling in my face yelling that my son is rude and she refuses to work on him. I asked her what happened and she said nothing and neither did the other employees. I went back to get my son and he was shaking

The quality of Dr. Callen’s pediatric dental practice is like none I’ve ever experienced. Her team is always so warm, friendly and amazing with my kids. The office itself is colorful, clean and safe (I would have said this before the pandemic and it’s even more so now). Dr. Callen herself is top notch! My daughter and wife just came back from Dr. Callen's office in tears. My 5 year old just lost a tooth and was excited to go to the dentist, even though she has anxiety about doctors. My wife was not allowed to go back to the chair with my daughter to help comfort her. She sat through the exam but got scared when they tried to take X-rays of her teeth, and wouldn't let them do it. She wasn't trying to be mean or get attention, she's just an anxious 5 year old. As a pediatric dentist, I'd hope Dr. Callen would be more nurturing and gentle to encourage a positive association

I couldn't be happier to have Marie Callen and her team taking care of my children's dentistry needs! It was by chance Callen did our oldest sons dental surgery at Children's and we were so satisfied we chose a dental insurance she would accept and followed her to her practice to take care of them both from there on out. Her team is always so kind, greeting you with smiles and patience in any situation. I took my kids to Marie Callen because she came highly recommended, however what we experienced didn't align with her reviews. She may be a great dentist but she is NOT great with kids. Dr. Callen and her staff are very caring, professional and extremely helpful. We have been coming to this office for five years. Our youngest child is special needs and she is treated so kindly that she actually loves going to the dentist. Her most recent visit required a sealant which was able to be done at the time of her scheduled cleaning. This may not seem like a big deal but a change in the routine can be offsetting. Dr. Callen and all the members of her office are amazing. My kids love going there and look forward to dentist appointments. I mean who wouldn’t with the colorful waiting room stocked with toys, movies and books. The office is bright and whimsical and has fun stations for the kids to play at while they wait. My daughter had her “class bear” with her at her appointment, and all I hoped for was to snap a few fun pictures of her with the bear at the dentist so she could tell her classmates about that. As a first time patient, who needed a cavity filled for the first time, my daughter was fairly nervous. But as soon as we walked in the door she was treated AMAZING... and their work was beyond great! Every single person in their office work together to create an atmosphere that automatically makes you feel comfortable and able to leave with a smile on your face! (Even if it is numb 😉) Dr. Callen was so great! She’s easy to talk to, fun with the patients, and does great work! We found our new dentist! And in my opinion... very fairly priced.

We LOVE our dentist! We had chosen her as our dentist after months of research and asking trusted friends where to go- Marie Callen was the clear winner! I could not be more happy. From our first visit, she made my daughter feel comfortable, was informative, and helped me to build a routine that would work at home. She even told me to call her if my daughter wasn't allowing us to help brush, and she would remind her over the phone what we had discussed! Five stars all around!

My daughters have gone to Dr. Callen for years. She is fantastic. She is so friendly and engages very well with the girls. My daughter had a dental emergency 2 years ago on a snowy Valentine's Day which was on a Sunday. I was able to reach Dr. Callen personally. After I texted a photo of my daughter's mouth, she told me she would meet us at the office immediately. She spent a couple hours working on my daughter to repair her tooth. I can't say enough about the care Dr. Callen has provided to my daughters over the years. She is extremely talented and has a great personality to match
