Cruz P. was charged with a felony DUI resulting from an accident where another person was injured. After several months of negotiations, the Judge reduced the charge to a misdemeanor which resulted in a fine and DUI school only. The defendant was not sentenced to any jail time. He was able to keep his job because it wasn't a felony.
After you are arrested for a DUI in Fresno, you may not know where to turn, or what to do next. The first question you will probably have is: What happens now? The answer may depend on what happened in your particular case. For most people, the police officer has taken away your driver's licence, and has given you a pink slip of paper, which is your temporary driver's license.
In California, when you are arrested for a DUI, the DMV will suspend your license, unless you act. From the date of your arrest, you have 10 to contact the DMV and request a hearing to fight to keep your license from being suspended. You are entitled to a California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) hearing, which is an administrative hearing and separate from the criminal proceeding.

I am a nurse and hired Mr. Wapner to help me. I take a couple of prescription medications for anxiety. I don't drink. I was stopped for speeding and they found my prescriptions in my purse. They arrested me for DUI but i wasn't drunk. I take my prescriptions like I am supposed to. Mr. Wapner and his staff helped me get through this. he was able to show that I was not under the influence and the attorney dismissed the case with just a speeding charge that I paid a fine for. I was arrested for DUI after leaving a nice dinner where I had a couple glasses of wine. I probably shouldn't have driven but I thought I was ok to drive. Terry Wapner was my lawyer. I didn't have to go to court until we had a trial. He was very effective in court...way better than the prosecutor. The judge liked all of our motions before the trial and at the end of the day, the prosecutor dismissed the case. We didn't have to finish the trial at all. Mr. Wapner was really good and seemed to know more than the other attorney. The result really helped me.

My best decision was not the night I got stopped (of course). My best decision was the day I hired Terry Wapner and Wapner Jones, PC. to represent me. Mr. Wapner took care of me and guided me through the DMV and court hearings. I got a good deal. The blood result was a .15. He did some investigating with my blood test and because of that, I got it reduced to a wet & reckless. Deborah, his office person was kind and helpful also. Thank you!!

Well what can I say about Mr. Wapner. I'm a CDL driver who made a terrible mistake bye driving home after a party. I was driving pretty fast... I got pulled over and giving a DUI. So I had asked around for a good DUI attorney, and they gave me Mr Terry Wapner phone number. He was very professional and honest with me. He knew what he was doing. On the day of of court, he got my speeding ticket dismissed and I received a wreckless, not a DUI...He also won my DMV hearing, so I did not loose my CDL. He did an outstanding job for me.
