We minimize waste by using only locally sourced blooms that have a smaller carbon footprint than imports. Best flowers in DC and fantastic, on time delivery. I heard about Little Acre Flowers through Foxtrot and was so glad that I ordered them for my anniversary. I ordered the Daily Hand-Tied Bouquet and it came with a massive bouquet of assorted flowers that were all extremely fresh, smelled amazing, and lasted over a week in a vase.
Will definitely be buying from them again for future occasions.

Services
Little Acre Flowers delivered its first 100% local flower arrangements during a snowstorm in 2014. It began as a pop-up offering for Valentine's Day, staffed entirely by one woman (plus her kind friends who pitched in to help make deliveries during the blizzard!)
When she quickly sold out of Valentines, founder Tobie Whitman realized the strong interest in an alternative to traditional floral arrangements; DC's only 100% locally-sourcing florist, Little Acre Flowers, was born. The concept of creating arrangements using only locally grown blooms grew from Whitman's frustration with traditional florists whose flowers seemed neither fresh nor seasonal.

By only carrying what's in season we reduce our overall waste. Other florists stock many kinds of flowers that often go unused if there is no order for them. At Little Acre because we have a single daily special, there are few wasted flowers. Some estimate that of cut flowers end up in the trash because florists stock so many kinds that people don't order.
Our designers curate a unique daily arrangement based on what is freshest from our growers. Little Acre streamlines shopping by offering a single arrangement each day based on what is fresh and local. Just like a restaurant has its daily special based on seasonal ingredients, so do we. Through keeping options simple, Little Acre Flowers saves time, minimizes waste and offers the freshest flowers possible.
To get started: Simply choose vase or bouquet below, specify your frequency (weekly, monthly, or seasonal), and provide delivery details. We'll take care of the rest! I ordered a bouquet to be delivered to my Washington D.C.-based friend for her birthday. They do next-day deliveries and ordering is a breeze through their website. You can't pick out the exact flowers/bouquet, only the size - I got the small pictured below. It totally exceeded my size expectations! The bouquet was SO beautiful. I highly recommend Little Acre Flowers for your floral needs - it never hurts to help a small, Washington D.C. based business too!

This will be my go-to florist for any flowers in the DC area from now on. I wanted to use a local company and I'm SO glad I did! My mom got her birthday flowers on the promised day and they were absolutely stunning. I recognized the floral varieties as ones that grow in our region in the summer so I believe the company's statement that they are all sourced locally. Their choice of flower types, colors, textures and foliage were so much more beautiful than any flowers I've ever had delivered. Five stars all the way!

A friend send me the most gorgeous, fresh, beautifully arranged bouquet. I loved how all the flowers were locally grown, and it smelled so good, especially the peony. There were some very delicate flowers in the bunch and I was impressed by how intact it arrived and stayed! The ball reusable pickling jar (and lid!) were a nice touch for the vase.
I just ordered an arrangement for a friend :) Little Acre is my new go to!

Absolutely BLOWN AWAY by these flowers. I bought what was supposed to be the smallest/cheapest option preparing to just check the "flowers for mom" box off the Mother's Day to-do list, but they delivered this gorgeous bouquet. I was hesitant about buying flowers without knowing what they would look like but they exceeded all of my expectations. Mom commented on how nicely they were wrapped and delivered. I live on the opposite side of the country from my mom but this was so easy and made my mom so happy, I am sold.

Best place I have ordered from in DC! Have been trying a few different places in the area after moving here last year, and I was very pleasantly surprised by my order today, the ladies who work at Little Acres were very nice when I called to confirm and picked up this morning. Will definitely be back.

Hands down the prettiest flowers I’ve ever bought for my wife. Reminds me of the same style that you see from florists in Europe— more of a slightly wild look than you get with FTD and the likes. Little Acre has been my go to for years— when travel makes you miss a big day, when you just want to send gorgeous flowers, or any other time you want to send flowers. Skip all the other places you know and give Little Acres a try. You won’t be sorry, and neither will whoever you send them to!

You must get flowers from Little Acre! Their work is beautiful, of exquisite quality, and it’s so important. By sourcing flowers locally and seasonally, they not only support local farms, but also make sure that they are getting the most beautiful ingredients for their arrangements. If sustainability, beauty, quality, and supporting the local economy are important to you, this is your florist.
I received two myself in different seasons, and adored them both. I’ve ordered several for friends of mine recently, and I know they will be just as in love as I am. Lush, happy, colorful, sustainable

My kids got me a bouquet for Mother's Day 5-12-19 and it's quite lovely! They know I like local/organic things. The wrapping was simple yet charming: rough brown paper, cardboard box to hold bouquet upright in its sturdy plastic bag with water, all wrapped in rough burlap from imported organic coffee bag (Peru!) and tied off with rough butcher's-type twine. Even the card looks home-made/recycled paper-ish.
AND they're beautiful and not commercial-ey looking.
