Services
Colony Eye Care Center is a long standing local, private optometry practice in the Sugar Land area. We have been caring for our patients and their eyes for over 25 years. We are proud to offer you and your family state of the art facilities, equipment and service! Conveniently located on Sweetwater Blvd. in Sugar Land and on Highway 6 in Missouri City, we are here to meet your needs.
Dr. Davenport is a board certified Therapeutic Optometrist. He graduated from Abilene Christian University and went on to graduate from University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Davenport has been in private practice in Sugar Land since 1991, specializing in contact lenses and laser vision correction procedures.
Colony Eye Care Center participates in many medical insurance and vision discount plans. We are happy to bill your services to any plan with which we have a contract. Please be sure to bring all relevant information regarding your insurance plan so that we can process your claim. Prior to your appointment, we recommend checking with your carrier to determine if we are authorized providers on your plan.
At Colony Eye Care we put our patients first. With four highly trained optometrists and a group of skilled and caring staff we do everything in our power to make sure you and your eyes are taken care of. Our goal is to create the most welcoming and comfortable environment while maintaining the highest possible standards of care.
At Colony Eye Care Center our doctors check your eyes not only determine your best prescription for glasses or contacts, they also assess the overall health of the eye. Both are equally important parts of the comprehensive eye exam. Many people, more commonly males, are color blind. While it is a mild inconvenience for most, in certain cases it may affect someone's day to day life.

Colony Eye Care Center is exceptional - they are friendly but professional, explaining everything they do step-by-step, answering questions before you even ask. Dr. Davenport has a warm, open demeanor and you just feel like you’re in good hands. You feel like you’re the only patient - never rushed. Cannot give higher praise- they’re the best!

Colony Eye Care Center and Dr. Davenport are excellent as always. I’ve been going here for at least 15 years if not longer. There is never a long wait. Dr Davenport is always very thorough, patient, and knowledgeable and he takes the time to be sure all questions are answered. The office staff is efficient and friendly and very accommodating concerning appointments.

I realize every is busy due to staffing issues but keep in mind I am a customer not your company. So please don't take your frustration out on me, I only been asking for my prescription since last week and until now. I have been very patient and continue to be even though this was my 4th call. I have Ben going there for over 18 years.

Just a quick updated on their Halloween contact lens selection.
I was extremely embarrassed and shy to ask the reception people if they sell these contacts because it almost seems like you're asking the dentist which candy they recommend...but please note that it's ILLEGAL to buy lens anywhere else than your eye doctor. I've read up on it and it's to discourage buying really crappy and unsterile products from off-market.
They were very nice on phone and in person, you should REALLY order 2 weeks-3 weeks before Halloween because some items are more custom drawn. I saw: zombie

Being myopic with astigmatism isn't exactly fun. Since I'm not particularly enthused about LASIK, I make my way around this world with contact lenses and occasionally glasses.
Colony Eye Care Center, specifically Dr. Salchak, serves my needs with thorough and detailed eye exams as well as providing my sight-enabling necessities. There are other eye doctors here, as well. However, being a patient of Dr. Salchak I can only speak for his services. The other doctors, from my observation, seem capable and reputable also.
The testing and equipment used here is the most current and high quality
