Shotokan Karate is an "empty hand" traditional Japanese style of martial arts created by Master Gichin Funokoshi in Okinawa in the early 1900s. We continue to adhere to the principles set forth by Master Funokoshi. Each plays a crucial role in the development of karate skills as well as physical and mental development.
LCSKC (Lancaster County Shotokan Karate Club) was formed by Sensei Todd Kentzel (7th Dan) in 2012 as an extention to CCSKC, formed in 1981. Sensei Kentzel began training in 1983 and has been an active member of the ISKF (International Shotokan Karate Federation) for over 30 years. He is a graduate of the ISKF instructor training program and a current member of the ISKF East Coast Technical Comittee.

Services
At the end of each training session-whether it be at the dojo, after class, or after a tournament the dojo kun is repeated all together by the students as a reminder of why we train. The dojo kun states the basic philosophy of karate, according to its founder and my teacher, Master Gichin Funakoshi.
