When you visit our office you will sense the difference. We are a practice dedicated to providing the highest quality of dental care in and around the Oroville area. Our office provides modern pain free dentistry by incorporating such techniques as digital dental x-rays (which reduces radiation exposure up to 90%), intraoral cameras, sedation or sleep dentistry, dental laser use and anesthetic techniques that strive to be pain free.

Dr. Lawson is a graduate of the prestigious Arthur A. Dugoni, University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. Prior to returning to Oroville, he practiced in Santa Barbara in both private practice and a non-profit setting that served the underprivileged of the community.
The Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinic's mission was mainly to address children's dental needs and secondly to address the dental emergencies of the homeless population.This experience helped Dr. Lawson to gain the skills necessary to feel comfortable treating young children to adults with serious health and dental complications.

Our office is located at 3579 Oro Dam Blvd. East, Suite C in Oroville. Our goal is to provide the highest quality of dental care for all our patients, in a way that is relaxing and comfortable for them. To achieve this goal, we customize a dental plan to fit the specific needs of each of our patients.
To schedule an appointment, give us a call at (530) 534-8353. If you get in touch with our office after hours, you can leave your name and contact information. We will return your call on the next business day. If you feel any oral pain and other similar emergencies, contact us right away and we will try our very best to see you that same day.
For your convenience, our office accepts several payment methods including cash, all major credit cards, personal checks, and money orders. We also work with Care Credit should you prefer a payment plan. Take note however that Care Credit arrangements should be made prior to your treatment. If no other payment arrangement has been made in advance, then the payment is due at the time the dental service is provided.
Your first visit will include a thorough examination of your oral structures. We will provide a diagnosis of your current oral health and then consult with you about the most suitable treatment for any dental problems you may currently have. If the treatment plan you need involves a root canal, then we will set up another appointment for the treatment.

The list of things I would rather do than go to the dentist is long, and includes activities like digging a ditch with a soup spoon or cleaning a public restroom with my tongue. However, that list got a lot shorter today after a visit to Doctor Lawson's office. The dentist and every member of the staff was surprisingly friendly even after I took my mask off which is rare. My Husband needed urgent dental care for a failed root canal that needed attention. After calling our regular dentist and having to deal with a rude receptionist, they would not see us for almost 3 weeks. We called several offices, most were closed due to COVID, and many of those that were open, were unable to see my husband. I finally called Lawson dental and was greeted by a friendly receptionist who was pleasant and very helpful. They were able to fit my husband in to be seen in just a couple of hours. I was in horrible pain and in dire need of a root canal. I was originally referred to a Dr. in Chico who had a long waiting list and wanted an arm and a leg for services. Luckily I had done a Google search and came across Dr. Lawson's office, read the great reviews, and called. He was able to get me in ASAP,. he saved my tooth and was affordable. My family has been going to Dr. Lawson since he came to Oroville. We love his office. Everyone is positive, friendly, and helpful. I have had some issues with a couple of teeth lately and Dr. has taken time to explain everything, given me all my options, and answered all my questions. Then he let me make a decision without feeling pressured. His nurse is awesome too tells me to squeeze her hand if I'm having any pain. It's great makes me so much calmer. I have a small mouth and Dr. is very patient with not much room to work. We just love all his staff and him can't imagine going to anyone else

My husband was having terrible pain and needed a tooth pulled. I called at least 20 dentists and nobody would help him. It seemed like they didn't care. When I called Dr. Lawson's office it was different. Pat was very caring and gave us an appointment right away. We were treated with respect at the office and didn't have to wait long. I love this dentist, Steve Lawson is the best dentist around. I love a dentist who can give you a shot that you don't even know he gave you. So if you hate needles like I do go to dr Lawson. Dr Lawson staff is the best around can't be beat. My family and I really appreciate Dr. Lawson, Shelley, and the rest of the staff in his office. They are professional, efficient, and most importantly, have taken care of our teeth issues. They have educated us and worked with us. My 3 year old son recently came for his first appointment and it went GREAT! My experience with Dr. Lawson & his staff has been absolutely wonderful! I contacted his office in a panic needing to have my 11 year old daughter seen ASAP. He & his staff, so kindly accommodated us for a same day appointment! Wow! I just moved here and I was nervous about finding a good dentist being unfamiliar with the area. Dr. Lawson was excellent! He gave me all my options without any pressure and gave me his suggestions after my tooth cracked. Shelly was also excellent.
