Kitsap Martial Arts dojo is located in Poulsbo, WA and offers martial arts and self defense classes for adults and children ages 5+. Our core martial arts program is based on the Bujinkan Tenchijin dojo curriculum. Within the Tenchijin curriculum we practice striking, joint manipulation, throwing and classical Japanese weaponry as well as breathwork, meditation, mobility, flexibility, and nutrition.
The Bujinkan () is an international martial arts organization based in Japan and previously headed by Masaaki Hatsumi. The combat system taught by this organization comprises nine separate ryha, or schools, which are collectively referred to as Bujinkan Bud Taijutsu. I'm Brian Church, the owner and primary instructor for kids and adult classes at Kitsap Martial Arts.

Services
Adult classes (open to ages 16 and older) focus on a combination of striking, throwing, joint manipulation and weapons practice. Classes generally begin with a bow-in procedure followed by warm-up and mobility drills. Depending on the length of class we will review and drill several techniques or principles before our cool-down and bow-out procedure begins.
Students participating in our Ninja Kids program will develop greater awareness, balance and control through the games we play and drills we practice in class. In addition to the physical movements we practice, children are also encouraged to implement the Ninja Kids class rules outside of class to become better humans.

After relocating to Kitsap from the Seattle side, we were eager to find a martial arts dojo for our 10 yr old daughter. We previously attended an established school with excellent teachers, so we were willing to take our time to find the best environment for our family.
I could not be more pleased with our decision to join KMA. The senseis are brilliant! All students are given time and consideration, there are no favorites. I find our daughter learns best when she’s allowed to wiggle, the KMA teachers are accommodating of individual needs and learning styles, engaging students with good humor

My family loves KMA! The senseis instruct with mindfulness helping the students gain confidence, discipline, concentration, and stamina. In the words of my 10 year old son, "This class is super awesome! It's teaching me rolls that I really like and I think that the senseis are really cool!" We are always looking forward to meeting new ninja friends!

Our eight year old son started with Sensei Brian over a year ago. Ninja Kids class has been an amazing experience for him. The focus on building responsible, hard-working kids is abundantly clear through the fun and engaging activities each week. I am excited to be enrolling our five year old soon, because I know what a great teacher he will have. I could not more highly recommend Ninja Kids class.
