This place is always either a major success or a complete miss. It must depend on who’s working the kitchen at the time.
1st visit was a great steak torta.
2nd visit was a greasy, soggy, mess of a chicken quesadilla and messy tacos.
3rd visit was a perfect carnitas and perfect veggie torta with perfect bread, not soggy, came with pickled carrots and peppers, and plenty of avocado.
4th visit was a soggy veggie torta that looked like vomit and was 75% cheese with no pickled carrots and peppers, and literally a single slice of avocado at the far end.
I hate wasting food but I just couldn’t

Batavia may be small, but we have our share of fine Mexican restaurants.
El Taco Grande
Burrito Parrilla
Taco Gill and Salsa Bar (prior was Salsa Verde)
Taqueria El Sazon
Pepe's
and Taco Bell
so we have our choices. How to differentiate. Service. Cost. Taste. Selection.
Service at Taco Grill is great. Menu selection is great (although they were out of ground beef the other day). It's price comparable to the others. I'll give 5 stars for the above. overall I would say 4.5. Taste is good. and worthy of trying. But reviews need to be honest. Burrito Parrilla tastes better. However it's further

×love this place. My wife has had all the vegetarian choices and really likes all of them. Fresh and favorable. I get the street tacos and the chicken, steak, and pork are excellent. They might have the best guacamole around. It is very favorable with onions, cilantro and spiced just right. Their salsas are also right on the money. One of our favorite stops since moving to Batavia recently.

Food was okay but very expensive. Used to get $1 tacos and went today to get them at $1.50 a piece. When I got done ordering the chicken tacos that should be 1.50 a piece it ended up being almost $3 for each one. And passing on the 3.99% charges to the customer for using a credit card/debit card, sorry I don’t carry cash and I won’t be back especially since the prices on the board apparently don’t reflect the actual prices. Unless I was missing something.

Pros:
No wait.
Friendly staff.
Several options for salsa.
Spicy enough for people who are not into spicy.
Cons:
Flavor was mediocre - not great.
On a spicy range of 1 to 10, salsas ranged from 1 to 6. Nothing was really spicy.
Between the two of us dinning, one of us came away midely ill, the other very ill.

This place is alright not bad not good, all meats tasted like if they was steam for to long & end up being dry, horchata was ok but Jamaica tasted like pure sink water, can’t even taste the rest just sink water. The hottest sauce I like it as first but has that beer taste at the end & didn’t like it. The green sauce was like watery no flavor at all the other sauce was good. I would like the torta better if was better quality & if they improve.
