Lakeview is located on the shore of beautiful Crystal Lake in the center of Averill Park, NY. We are renowned to locals and tourists alike for our family atmosphere and American cuisine from soups and sandwiches to prime rib and seafood. Purchased in 1979 by Art Herman, this historic 1800's building consisted of a bowling alley, small dining room and a bar area.
In March of 1980 it had an irreparable fire. Later that year the neighborhood gathering place was rebuilt without the bowling alleys, which have been incorporated into our dining tables and bar! Today Art's daughter Bonnie brings more than 25 years of restaurant experience & continues to offer exceptional food and always-friendly service.

Excellent friendly place. Beautiful setting on the lake. Huge portion sizes. Nice deck for outside dining overlooking the lake very extensive menu. I've only had the eggplant Parm which was plentiful for sure. I guess my only complaint would be is the angel hair it came with was broken in half before cooked. That's a huge pet peeve of mine and will be sure to mention them to not break it next time. My wife had salmon she loved it friend had a steak he loved it his wife had seafood Alfredo she loved it

The menu is absolutely phenomenal, I couldn’t decide on what I wanted so I had to try a few things. Sat at the bar and Rachel our bartender not only served the entire bar (& table area) but did it friendly and efficiently - she made the entire experience. the regulars were all fun and welcoming and it made for a great time. The roast beef club was 10/10 tuna Mac may have been the best I’ve ever had, it was recommended by the gent sitting to my right as I looked over my options. I miss this place already and I just left.

We were in the area and were recommended here for lunch. What a pleasant surprise. Quality family-run feel, everything was made with care. My eggplant hoagie was fresh, not greasy, just the right amount of sauce, on crispy bread. My wife's spinach and black bean quesadilla was equally fresh and delicious. Of special note was the gouda mac 'n cheese bites and the sticky toffee cake Sunday with salted toffee ice cream. Beer list was more than adequate, with a few craft choices, including a couple of local/regional ones.
Check Lakeview out if you're in Averill Park. We'll be back.

The food was good, nothing great but worth returning for if the service wasn't so bad. We were there last Thursday. It was steady, but not busy and there were still a lot of open tables and enough servers to cover them. We waited at least 15 minutes for anyone to take our drink orders though we did see the waitress chatting with a table that seemed to be regulars. We ordered our food at the same time we ordered our drinks. Our food came pretty quick, we ate it, finished and sat and waited. And waited. My husband did order dessert. Again that came quickly along with the bill. We finished dessert

This has been my go to spot for several years. Lately they have been slipping. My orders continue to get messed up and their menu does not accurately explain all the items. I love this place so I'll give it a good star value and hope someone reads this that works there. For example the piping hot hoagie isn't a hoagie at all. It's a like a boat. They cut out the inside of the bottom part of the sub and put the food in its place with no top bun. It's decent but not what I was expecting. I'll continue to go here but I am hoping the food goes back to where I'm used to

The service was incredible but the food is towards the downside, fish n fries, the only good thing were the fries. My mom got grilled shrimp that came on a bed of pasta. It smelled like old seafood dish and wasn't good at all. The friend fish tasted stale too, like haddock in balloon of batter. My husband got a steak which he said was okay. The scenery is beautiful on the deck. The traditional old school restaurant location has a lot of potential, but the food part really needs a perk up. Wish Gordon Ramsey would do a restaurant flip over on this one and visit there kitchen.

Never been here before so had to try.Warmest evening of the year, pleasantly surprised by service and food.Party of 4 we were seated exactly as time reserved, water supplied to table minutes after.I,d say 5 minutes later our waitress appeared and took our drink orders and came back while waiting on drinks to be made for appetisers.Busy sat nite,as we were finishing the steamed clams, she came over for dinner order.I felt like she did a great time timing things and was very attentive to us.Food, two Queen Prime ribs ,a maple pork chop and a stuffed haddock were lauded by all of us.Nice meal, very loud

I've always found Lakeview to have excellent service, great wings and great pizza. It's hard to find a local joint that works so well but Lakeview does it!
Their food is consistently good, and the only way the restaurant could improve is by adding delivery!
Once when I ordered a sandwich for pickup they put mayo on it (I don't eat mayo at all) so that was a bust, but otherwise whenever I order from there, it's exactly as I ordered.

Went at 7pm on a busy Saturday. Was seated within 15 minutes. I didn't catch the servers name but she was very good and efficient. I ordered a seafood stuffed haddock broiled in lemon butter and wine with twice baked potato and smoked gouda tomato soup to start. The soup was excellent and I could easily have eaten another bowl. The entrees came in a fair amount of time. My haddock was fresh and was an ample portion. The stuffing was placed on top of the fish instead of being stuffed inside,, not a big deal. The potato had a black spot, which I set aside. Not a big deal, but something which

We were completely ignored for 8 minutes as the hostess walked past us numerous times. Then treated to a passive-aggressive hissy fit when we asked whether we could sit outside. she walked away, made a childish gesture with her hands, and did not return. 10 minutes later we left. This is my hometown and I have always appreciated the good manners of it's people. Sadly this restaurant is now the exception to that rule. The sevice at an establishment down the road was flawless.

Our first visit so far was on a VERY busy Saturday evening. We called 1/2 hour ahead for a reservation for 4 and only had to wait 10 minutes for a table (inside). Our harried waitress apologized upfront for any delays and she remained friendly and real thru our visit. I can't recall what our guests ordered but they were very pleased. We had chicken parm (big serving) and the special of sausage and peppers over linguini. The latter was delicious, too, aside from the linguini not quite fully cooked. The place was pretty loud with conversation so we had a rough time hearing each other. But we
