St. Angela's Preschool is the parish preschool of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church in Pacific Grove, Diocese of Monterey. Our center meets all education, catechetical, and security requirements of the Department of Catholic Schools. St. Angela's Preschool is a high-quality developmental program that provides for the individual and varied needs of the children and families of the Monterey Peninsula we serve.
We offer programs ranging from a 3 half day schedule to a 5 full day schedule for Pre-kindergarten and Pre-school ages. The whole child by integrating spiritual and moral development with high academic standards. Services
Foster the uniqueness of each child. At St. Angela's Preschool, every child is provided with opportunities to develop his/her spiritual, cognitive/intellectual, physical, emotional, and social, verbal/language, and mathematical skills in a developmentally appropriate program. Children learn best through play, by doing and through things that are meaningful to them.
A typical school day allows the students many opportunities to experience God's love and gifts. All aspects of the curriculum build a strong foundation for success in Kindergarten and beyond. The classrooms are outfitted with age-appropriate materials to allow for a balance of self-initiated and teacher-directed activities.
Our established co-educational Catholic pre-school program is staffed by loving, caring, and experienced teachers, who work together to create lessons, activities & events that promote the development of the whole child. St. Angela's places an emphasis on professional growth for staff that encourages and maintains high quality educators for our program.
Touring of the facility will take place prior to registration. A tour with the parent(s), child and director will be made for 8:45 a.m., on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, to observe morning assembly, transitions into the classrooms and the first 15-20 minutes of the classroom daily routine. Parents should plan to spend up to 30 minutes.
Drop-in Hours: Drop in hours must be requested and approved by the Director at least 24 hours in advance. Registration: An annual non-refundable registration and general fee of $450.00 is required to secure a space in a class. This fee is applied to administrative expenses, school events, educational guests, teacher training, and art/classroom supplies.
