Being involved in a motor vehicle accident can certainly be a life changing event. Below are a few tips to remember if you ever find yourself in a car crash. First of all, it is most important to try and stay calm. Depending on the severity of the accident, you're going to have to make an assessment on whether or not to call the police and or ambulance.
Step 1: In the Estimate Process area the vehicle is inspected and relevant data is entered into estimate computer systems. This data is compiled into an estimate that determines the cost of repairs. However, often there is hidden damage that can not be seen until after the vehicle is disassembled. Step 2: Once the estimate is completed, the insurance company will review the estimate.

Got into an accident on the way up to Truckee. I was pretty hopeless - the damage seemed substantial and I was going to have to pay for the repairs out of pocket. Jason worked with me to find the most affordable solution, and was very resourceful in doing so. He understood my situation from the beginning and kept it in mind every step of the way. BEWARE: This company is a scam. They rip off locals! I wanted to go somewhere in Truckee to keep business local. My car took them two hours to look at and they held it for four days. I was charged $600 just to look at the car. It was picked up two hours after I received the quote back. No compassion only a company trying to go after profits over anything else. Save your money and go to somewhere that has respect for their clients.

I would not recommend. I just got back from picking up my truck for autobody repair evaluation. My insurance company required me to have it towed there due to COVID instead of sending someone out to evaluate the damage. The car sat for three days before they could look at it. They got the quote back to me after 4 days, billing me for 3 hours worth of work and a $90/day storage to have it sit there for the 4 days. If they had said they couldn't look at it for a few days we would have gotten it towed down later in the week. The owner suggested that he "gave us a deal" when in reality

These guys are awesome. They've fixed my car and my wife's car over the last couple years. Watch out in the Safeway and Mtn Hardwear parking lots. We both got backed into in these lots, which had us seek out the great folks at Shepherds. Their communication is great and their work is top notch! Next time someone backs into one of us in a parking lot we will 100% use Shepherds to fix it. Highly recommended for body shop needs.

Had my Cadillac backed into and decided to call them for an estimate. They told it to bring it by so I did. They said it would take 6-10 days for an estimate.... never heard from them for about a month. I finally called them and they said something along the lines of oh yeah we are still looking for parts. I took it to auto body and frame shop a few hundred feet down the road and they got it done in a week.

I tried to get a quote for my truck to get repaired. I stopped by and they said that the estimator was gone and nobody could help at the time. I called later and checked to see if estimator was available... still nothing. I checked back the next day and found a time that the estimator would be available. I showed up for the 3rd time and the estimator was busy with other customers. They assigned another employee to start my estimate process. Daren and Jason delivered excellent customer service for my truck which I had badly damaged this summer! My truck looks brand new again!! I am very happy with the work that they did! The workmanship is superb, unfortunately the place seems to think that your insurance will cover a rental car indefinitely. A four day job turned into three weeks whereas 11 of those days they never even touched the car. My insurance company now will not automatically insure me year to year. This is USAA! All because the auto repair place abuses our auto insurance and assumes it hasn't any consequences. It does. The sad part is Jason does a good job and if you have a second car as a backup great, otherwise expect at least a month to get your car back. That's unacceptable to us, now we

I can't say enough positive about Shepherd's Auto Body in Truckee. They picked up my car from my office and returned it the same day! I thought they couldn't do the work they were so fast, but they did an excellent job removing a dark mark across two doors - you'd never know anything was there! AND there was no charge! Who does that these days? Shepherd's Auto Body does! I will be back when I need more serious repairs in the future and if you need auto body work - try Shepherd's - It's worth it. :-)

Totally a fan. Customer service was great, fair pricing, immediately got my bumper on the truck pulled back in line enough to use it until it could be repaired.
Took care of my wife's Highlander as well after a close encounter with a snow plow this winter. I hate to keep coming back (but we keep getting dents and dings living in the mountains!). Every time one of the cars needs body work I would not go anywhere else. Fair and professional and quality work. Thank you to Jason and his great team.

Living here in Truckee, it is sometimes hard not to be pissed off at the businesses and restaurants that charge ridiculous prices that I believe are tailored for "tourists". But there are some businesses in town that are truly awesome and take good care of their customers because they are local. SHEPARDS auto body on West River St. Is one of them.
I had some minor scratches on my new car (from me being stupid and leaning against car with "bling on my jeans")
I went to the OTHER auto body shop on West River and they wanted $140 to rub the scratches out.. So I went to Shepards

We traveled from Maine (kids live here) and needed a little body work done, Jason made the effort to explore my priorities (simple repair to full like new finish), gave us an estimate. Took the truck right in and completed the job in less than half the estimated time, a most pleasant surprise to our travel budget The cab fare to/from where we were staying was almost as much as the repair. I've used Shepherd's Auto Body a couple of times for minor auto body repairs after a very bad experience with the body shop down the street. Art (the owner) is so thoughtful, agreeable and thorough to work with. His customer service is a 10 on my list! He and his team make my car look like new each time and surprise me by doing little extras, including washing the car inside and out before returning it to me!
If you want your car repaired right and appreciate top notch customer service, don't bother with any other shop. Go straight to Shepherd's Auto Body. You'll be glad you did!

My truck with over 100k miles on it was sideswiped a couple weeks ago. The entire right side and front end were destroyed. I got some quotes from Shepherds and other Auto Body shops. Shepherds gave the best price coupled with great service. The competition just looking at it and gave me a number. Art (the owner) took his time to look it over explain things and a good quote himself.
When I got my truck back it looked like new. The paint had been rejuvenated, even where the truck wasn't hit. They even detailed the inside along with wheels and tires. I cannot recommend them enough. Id
