I attended a class lead by Stephen Acosta and Shayna Danto this evening at the Detroit Yoga Lab on Forest in Detroit. I enjoyed the experience very much. Shayna started with a nice relaxation/meditation exercise, and then Stephen and Shayna lead an interactive and thought provoking talk about Yoga Sutras and Yamas and Niyamas. I'm a recent retiree and new to yoga. I was the oldest person there but felt welcome. I found the concepts we discussed relevant to me at this time in my life and am very glad I went to the class.
The class was held in a large room with beautiful hardwood floor, attractive

I’m so grateful I can continue my practice during the pandemic with your lovely studio. I am fully vaccinated and boosted however I have two baby grandchildren that are not eligible for vaccines yet and will not be practicing in studio until they are. I also know you have a lovely in studio practice because I used to practice in your studio years ago. Thank you for being mindful of this.

I am forever grateful to have this safe space where I can learn and commit to myself and my inner work with all the support I need. From the community, the staff, and the many offerings I can create a schedule tailored to my needs, EVEN DURING A PANDEMIC! I absolutely love being able to choose to practice in a way where I feel safe. Some days that is in studio, some days that’s from the comfort of my home on zoom. I love learning new tips and tricks in the workshops and especially have a soft spot for the journaling classes: odyssey. The replays have been so convenient for me too, the last thing

It's a shame all the way in Detroit we have companies refusing service to the unvaccinated, when lo and behold EVERYONE is now considered unvaccinated unless you take the boosters. You guys are in need of employees and I'm sure sales aren't the same. As soon as I saw that I immediately X's you guys out. No one wants to join a company that discriminates and don't even have the common sense to realize they are now discriminating against themselves.

Stumbled across this little studio while I was traveling. Due to Jacqueline M's review (thank you Jacqueline) i didn't book on-line. I went down to see it in person. There is a "new student special" that offers unlimited classes during a set amount of time but that special does not include mat rental. If you are traveling, ask for the traveler's special. It's a few bucks more expensive but if you take at least 3 classes you save money over the one at a time price. If you only have time for one class - the drop in class is your best price and if you are going to 2 classes

I went to a class with an instructor I had never met, and she immediately noticed I was new to her class, introduced herself, remembered my name, and chatted with me again after class. Such a warm, welcoming environment. My mat feels like "coming home," and this studio always feels like an extension of that feeling.

Received an email this stating that rooftop yoga was this evening instead of tonight at 830 am. Called to ask what time it was rescheduled for this evening and was told it was this morning at 11 and the email was sent in error. When I politely asked for a refund due to THEIR mistake I was told "we don't give refunds" and that I could send the owner a email but not speak directly to her . Well I'll do you guys one better and post my experience here. Don't book anything online with this place their customer service is atrocious and I'll be looking elsewhere for yoga

This was my first time at Detroit Yoga Lab and I was a little nervous about doing yoga in a heated room. Needless to say, it was an awesome experience!!! The temperature was comfortable, Rebecca and the young lady at the front desk was so warm and welcoming, and the way the class flowed was great also. I’ve been looking around for a yoga place for years and thankfully, I found this one. I’m definitely about to sign up for more classes so guess what......Detroit Yoga Lab has a customer for life!

Absolutely the best yoga studio in Detroit. I was really nervous because I'm not super comfortable in my body and stuff. But this is probably the best studio I've ever been to. I've had classes with nearly every teacher they have and each one of them is individually incredible. They do a good job of mixing up class routines and so it doesn't get monotonous or overwork certain muscles. If there's anything wrong with this studio it's that they're not open more during the day time!

Overall a good yoga studio. Front desk staff are nice & welcoming.
I've experienced a few disappointing classes, so I tend to only go to Naomi's classes now.
One concern though- During the past few couple classes I've been to, students' body odor has been so distracting and unpleasant. I don't know if anything can be done by DYL as it's a touchy subject. Either way, it discourages me from going back to this yoga studio.

Really lovely studio, with great teachers and positive energy. I've been practicing yoga for ten years and have sampled classes all throughout the metro-Detroit area. I love classes with Matthew or Naomi!
One of the strongest perks of this studio is their reasonable rates (check out their student discount) and their MILDLY heated studio space. I like this as a nice alternative to Bikram yoga or other hot yoga studios in the metro Detroit area. You still get the benefits of the heat, but without as much sweat. Bikram and hot yoga studios are great, and definitely have their place - but this

Naomi & co deserves six stars! This is where I first learned how to practise yoga. The instructions are clear and the teachers don't use too many of the Sanskrit terms to describe the poses, while making sure that you make the minor adjustments to get the most out of the poses. Perfect for beginners and seasoned practioners. The music doesn't overwhelm the instructions. The place is clean, bright and most of all, welcoming. You are not just a nameless face, new students are acknowledged and welcomed at the end of each class. Good selection of special activities in addition to the
