I would highly recommend this place to anyone. I took my son to 3 different eye doctors in Bakersfield before I found Innovative and they would not see my son because with his disability he would have many tantrums, wouldn't allow the doctor to examine him. Just before deciding to finally take him to a specialist in Los Angeles I heard of this Innovative Eyecare through the radio and decided to give them a try.

I had a great experience here! The staff was friendly, kind, and really listened to my concerns. The doctor took the time to explain why some I might be experiencing issues with my contacts and steps that we could try to fix it. I felt very comfortable asking questions and bringing up issues I’ve been having. I’m happy I found this place, and I won’t be going to any other eye doctor in Bakersfield.

I've had a lot of issues with my eyes. Other eye doctors haven't been able to figure it out but anytime I come with some issue it gets solved. My eyes strain really bad and no other doctor has been able to figure that out and give me glasses that actually work and relax my eyes. She is always very nice and answers any questions. The staff there has always been super nice and helpful as well. I love everything about this place!

I had a very severe case of dry eyes, to the extent that Dr. Wilhelmsen didn't feel she could get a good enough assessment of my eyes until the problem had cleared up. She prescribed eye drops to be used twice a day and worked with me for almost 3 months before the problem was solved enough that she could get a good reading of my eyes. The final result was absolutely perfect and all the problems I had been having are gone. I also found a frame that I liked and am very pleased and grateful for her patience and expertise. So I used to go to another optometrist but the last time I went I was having some eye issues that no one there was able to tell me what was wrong. So I looked online and at healthgrades and found Innovative eye care.. I am extremely happy with the service I got there. I now also finally know what was causing my vision problem. So that was a great weight lifted off my shoulders. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The doctor was great, I really can't say how good everyone there was. The only con I could find is they don't have a very big selection of men's frames. Even with that being the case

Ordered some glasses through Innovative, so I called beforehand to see if they sold the brand I wanted. They did and I was able to take care of all the insurance stuff beforehand. I was able to order the specific glasses I wanted online and the office staff was very helpful/friendly. Can't wait to go back to pick up my glasses!

I am very disappointed with this optometrist office. They are a pretty office in a nice location, but that’s about all they have to offer.
I have been going to this office repeatedly in attempts to get fitted for contacts. Each time I leave I am given contacts to either do not fit or are the wrong prescription. I have worn contacts since I was in high school, and have never had issues like this getting fitted.
I called today to express my interest in going to another office in hopes of receiving more adequate care. I was told that although I do not have contacts that fit me, both myself and

Had my first visit with Dr. Wilhemsen & she was awesome! From the time i made my appt & the during the whole appt the staff were very friendly & helpful. The office is very clean & welcoming. I loved the honest opinion from Dr. My visit was quick, thorough & she answered any questions that i had, i didn't feel rushed. I will be returning for future eye needs for myself & family. My family and I have been coming here for a few years now and we love it. Our little one first started coming here when she was 5 and they had no problem seeing her.

I had my first visit at IEC, I was really impressed with the professionalism of the staff. I was not there very long before I was called for my appointment. I have been to many other OD offices over the years in this city and had to wait for some time before ever being called back for a prelim exam.
IEC was excellent and thorough, with a very good selection of glasses. I finally found me an OD and will be back next year. I will be bringing my young son here for his exam. I would absolutely recommend IEC to family and friends.

I love Innovative Eye Care. I've been going to them for a few years now. Dr. Wilhemsen is friendly .The front desk and the lady helping you choose the frames are both very helpful as well. My husband couldn't believe the difference their lenses made. Apparently the Optometrist office he used had very low quality lenses. You'd blink & they'd scratch. He was so happy to find a place with superior quality.

Great experience with eye exams! My daughter really wanted to wear contact lenses, but was struggling with putting them in. Before we left, she knew how to put them in successfully, clean them appropriately, and take them out. She was so excited to finally be able to wear them! Very pleasant and caring staff.

I had a very pleasant experience during my first visit to IEC last week. I was greeted as soon as I came in and after filling out a couple of forms the doctor was ready to see me. Everything looked clean and modern in the exam room. Dr. Wilhemsen was friendly yet very professional and let me ask questions to my heart's content.
