Dr. Dear is a California native and a graduate from UC Berkeley's esteemed School of Optometry. Prior to co-founding In Focus Optometry, Inc., he worked for a variety of companies including Travis Air Force Base, the Veterans Administration, and North East Medical Services. His up-to-date knowledge and techniques paired with his extensive experience in optometry allows him to provide patients with excellent eye-care.

In addition to helping you find your perfect pair, we will do our best to order any pair per request from the brands listed below.
We are located at the Princeton Plaza Mall adjacent to Blossom Hill Road, where you can find plenty of convenient and free parking in the front. We found it easier to search Cup & Saucer when using maps. Once you park in the vicinity, we are located in the walkway between Cup & Saucer and the jewelry store.

I had been a customer for several years and in December I called to make an appointment for an exam. I was told someone would need to call me back after they checked my insurance. I said nothing had changed with my insurance but ok , do you want my phone number? No, the gal said, we have it and we will call you back. Still waiting for a call back. How disappointing. I just went somewhere else to get an eye exam and new lenses.

Big fan of In focus, got a pair of glasses with them about 3 years ago and really appreciate the staff and optometrist at the time. The eye exam was smooth and the turn around was about 3 weeks or so. Professional staff given the area of course slightly leaning more towards the family friendly side which I like! Professional and friendly!
I have recently gone back covid era and got an adjustment and accessories for the same pair of glasses and OD Choi has since left and now a different staff. Bummed that Dr. Choi left and the staff are professional and very helpful. This little shopping center

Dr. Dear and the staff here are great! The assistant is very thorough when answering questions and she is very friendly. They are also very clean and are very cautious during this pandemic- temp checks and sanitizing/disinfecting everything before and after a patient touches anything including glasses to try on! They were kind enough to fit me in their schedule multiple times throughout the course of 3 weeks and were super friendly and helpful when I had to take my baby with me to my appointment. I am nervous when going anywhere during these times but they take excellent safety measures which put

I highly recommend InFocus Optometry. I am a lapsed customer but I saw them about 15 years ago and have come back after some other eye exam experiences. Dr Dear is extremely thorough and they are also very caring. I have a good rapport with them and it's very straight forward. Dr Dear is highly knowledgeable and he made my contact lens exam very comfortable for me, and I can trust the prescription. Dr Dear is very "dear" to use a dad joke...

Our family has been going to Dr. Dear at In Focus Optometry for the past 5 years and we couldn't be happier with our eye care. I'm always able to get an appointment within a few days and never have to wait long when I arrive. Dr. Dear is very thorough in his examination and in answering my questions and concerns. He is also very patient with our young son in getting him to sit still for the eye exam. The staff are helpful with the examination process and also in selecting frames/glasses. We feel like valued patients and well cared for at this practice.

Wow! Just left from our first visit to this office. My daughter was out of contacts and needed an updated prescription, they were able to get her in right away and set her up with a pair to wear home. When I asked if they could possibly set up my 10 year old son for a contact fitting they worked him in as well.
The office staff was very welcoming and processed our paperwork very quickly. There was less than five minutes of wait time to see the doctor. The girl who sat with my son for contact training was very patient and explained to him so effectively that he was able to get them in and out

Solid place. Both dr Dear and Dr Choi are great to deal with. Especially nice with children.
The assistants are awesome, they figure out the insurance situation without you having to do much.
Thy always try to find you ways to safe and adjust to your budget.
Only draw back: paper history still, and Drs are not here every day, they have other office. Also selection for frames is a by limited. They still make their best to find you anything that fits your taste and can special order.
We love it here and won't go anywhere else.

As a Dentist, my vision is very important to me not just professionally but recreationally. I can really tell how good my vision RX is when using my surgical loops, as well as playing golf and fishing. In the past I have had bad luck with RXs and am very particular about the skills of the OD taking mine. I think my eye exam with In Focus was the best exam I've ever had. when Dr Choi, had some difficulty resolving the RX of my right eye, he recommended that I hydrate my eyes for a week and retest. What a difference that made. Other ODs would have gotten close and called it a day.

I would not even go back to this office after the way the girls at the front desk snicker at you and talk about you and whisper about you when you are leaving. Very unprofessional , and looks bad for the doctor..... I would give this a 0 stars if I could just because of the girls at the front desk. Do not go here if you expect excellent service since all that happens is you get whispered about behind your back, and they think you dont know that they are doing it .......

I've been going to Dr. Dear for almost 3 years now. I had only gone to Kaiser before, but my dad found InFocus through the VSP list. I have to admit, I was a little skeptical at first since it was such a small office, but any worries I had quickly melted away after meeting Brenda (not to mention their office has Saturday appointments!). She and Priscilla are both so sweet and helpful, even with helping you pick out new glasses frames! They also do a great job at explaining what your insurance covers etc and for those with contacts/ glasses, they help explain which will be covered best/ most

This was a wonderful first visit experience. Dr, dear was very forth coming and did not stop short of any and all tests/inspections he could preform on my eyes.
Priscilla the front desk assistant (sorry if spelt wrong) was such a sweet heart and fantastic help with choices of glasses.
I see no reason anyone wouldn't feel comfortable coming here.

After going to franchises like Pearl Vision and Eye Exam 2000 for so many years, going to Dr. Choi's finally made me realize the difference. At In Focus, Dr. Choi spends extra time with you on the exam, to make sure he didn't miss anything. He is attentive and caring, gentle and very patient, and answers all your questions no matter how long it takes. His charge and pricing for the glasses are reasonable and there is no up-selling or pressure to buy. I take my family to In Focus yearly for checkup and I have complete confidence that everyone will be well-taken care of. I would recommend

I like when small businesses have a website and there's is informative.
I was scheduled with Dr. Drenth and he was really nice and professional. He's been there for over 20 years!
98% of the time I wear contacts and I have a very strong prescription. Good news was my vision didn't change enough to get new glasses. He wrote me a contacts and glasses prescription (just in case.)

I signed up to take an advanced driving class and couldn't fit my helmet over my glasses. Needing contacts, I went to In Focus to get fitted. I have to say, I was quite cautious because of the last time I tried contacts. That optometrist rushed through the fitting, failed to teach me how to wear them properly and basically ruined any desire for me to try and wear contacts again.
