I got tired of having communication issues with a previous hair dresser. One particular day I had enough and decided to come here. This was one of my best decisions of 2021.
I saw Keya. She saw me. Said she could assist me and told me to sit by the sink and the rest was history. I've been coming here ever since. She takes care of me, doesn't burn me at all, and most importantly....She communicates.
My hair looks great and I have a consistent experience every time.

Was burned with the flat iron several times ... my first visit and the stylist, Keya was on the phone while doing my hair. Very unprofessional and rude. We as knack people need to do better and be more respectful towards each other. I still can’t believe I was treated like that as a new client … very slack!

What can I say about this place I was looking for a natural hair place for my daughter for awhile now and came across this place there prices are great and staff is very friendly and very professional and kind especially to little girls who hate getting there hair done. I recommend this salon very much so I been taking my child there now going on 5 weeks because of how much and how well they treat us as customers and how great they are with my daughter hair.

I feel bad for writing this cause I use to LOVE this salon. I went to today and i had to walk OUT! The customer service was horrible at the salon and it was a mess in there. This is strange cause I've gotten my hair done at the salon many times before the pandemic by Ananoda. Ananoda wasn't there today and I did not book her (my fault), but if you've gotten you hair done by Ananoda in the past you KNOW she is so professional and so kind. Idk who was working there today, but they were RUDE and they were not clean, especially the brushes/combs. I watch one women use the same comb on

The prices and service are inconsistent. Kerri one of the stylists is rude and doesn't wash your hair well at all or listen to your concerns. She has tons of attitude and needs to improve her customer service. I went to this salon about 4 times in 2020 and she did my hair on my final visit and after overcharging me for the same style I had 3 weeks prior done by Tamika a new stylist in this shop, they reluctantly adjusted the price after I said something. I have not been back. Stay away from from place if you're looking for customer service and consistency.

If you’re coming here for braids or another natural hairstyle, than this salon is perfect. I came in for a silk press and left with my hair FRIED and STIFF. So much so, when the stylists was moving the flat iron through my hair it was sizzling like bacon. On top of stiff and fried hair, I was in the salon for over five hours, as there was one stylist working on SEVEN different people. My appointment started at 11, and I wasn’t even in the chair until almost an hour later. I’ve come to this salon before, and never had a problem until yesterday. I have been coming to this salon for years and in my experience the ladies continually have good energy and keep it real with their guests.
My hair stylist Keya consistently cares for her clients and their comfortability. I had gotten box braids today and she had been attentive to my needs, even to the extent of wiping running water from my recently washed hair. Keya is always ready to give hair suggestions in needed. And as a reserved person like myself she respects those quiet guests yet she also knows how to hold a conversation if wanted.

I had to cut most of my hair off to grow new hair which is now healthy and much longer. I highly recommend Kerry if you want to go natural as I did.

I have been a client here since I moved to the area in 2018. I came to the area looking for a natural hair care specialist for myself and my daughters. Anoda the owner, has consistently provided great service and hair care knowledge for me and my girls even through the pandemic!! I am so happy to have found a salon that does HAIR CARE and isn't afraid to share knowledge to empower their clients to confidently take care of their hair between visits. There is no other place I will go or recommend. They are the best especially with my tender headed 5 year old!!

I've been here twice before and had a good experience.. but they are really starting to fall off and it is very unfortunate.
In September I booked an appointment and the day of said appt. I received a text message saying it was canceled. I called to inquire and they said that the stylist that I booked under was unavailable and that I had to reschedule bc everyone else was booked for the day.... ok whatever. I ended up just not going bc I was busy with school and work.
I book another appointment for December 6th at 4:30. I show up at 4:30 and the stylist is still working on another head

I requested a trim and a wash and go. I was under the steamer with the deep conditioner for almost an hour, and it burned the top of my forehead, leaving a red mark until the next day. I left the salon with wet roots, dry, shrunken, crunchy ends, and not one curl defined. I am not one to tell people how to do their job, but I have never defined my 4a/b curls with a fine-toothed comb, as it disrupts the natural curl pattern and promotes frizz and breakage (especially with dense, thick hair like mine). This place is horrible. I wish i could give them less than 1 star. I made an appointment for a consultation and servicee for my daughter to have a Natural hair care style done for her senior pictures. She had my daughter sit for 2.5 hours, only initially telling her it would be about an hour. I really wanted to love this place being that it's super close to my house and I've been in desperate need of a natural hair stylist. I made an appointment for a Saturday at 1pm, I arrived on time, 10 minutes early to be exact. The lady scheduled to do my hair was still working on someone's hair, so I was barely greeted as I walked. The stylists were super friendly and accommodating so the personal service was okay. My hair however was not. I described to the young lady that I am a former cancer patient and that this is the FIRST time that I am doing a silk press so I was basically unfamiliar with the current status of my hair. After washing and treating my hair she began to blow dry and then flat iron my hair ( silk press protocol). I recently moved to Nassau from Brooklyn and found Studio 91 on yelp and google. It was the only place that did natural hair and that the pics did not look fake or messed up. Believe it or not, LI is not equipped for us African American folk. Anyways, I went it there without an appointment a few weeks back and without thinking twice, they agreed to do my hair. I came here to try a natural hair care place close to home. After researching a few places I landed on Studio 91. After washing and deep conditioning my hair my stylist got to work. I had pictures of the style I was looking for and she did not disappoint. I wanted cornrows to the middle of my scalp (like a mohawk) and two strand twists at the end long enough that I can pull it up on hot days.
The restroom facilities were clean and the salon itself is nice. I am looking forward to coming back in the future.

I had to do an extra review for the service I received today. Excellent excellent I can't say more. This salon literally saved my vacation hair do. I went to another salon to get my hair braid and they screwed it up I had to remove them because they were so tight and not even the style I wanted. Made a last minute appointment at studio 91 and in 2 hrs my hair was braided exactly the way I wanted and it wasn't tight. Pure excellence!!

When I came here the first time I got a box braid bob done by Alysha. I waited a bit, but in the end it was worth it because my hair came out amazing. I recommend Alysha, she slayed my hair and her customer service is great. The second time I made appointment, Alysha wasn't available. So I made an appointment with the only stylist available. A week after making the appointment she calls me to confirm and make a deposit, and says if she doesn't hear from me she's canceling my appointment. What I love about coming here is the steam treatment. My hair is notoriously dry but not after my steam treatment with my favorite TGIN conditioner. Don't worry about how to answer how do you want your hair done. I just say surprise me and Wah-Lah I leaving with a style that lasts at least 2 weeks. They use some of the best products in your hair. They style kids, teenage boys, and women. Their business is growing so book a head to make sure your hair is tight when you need it to be.

I went here to get my hair done after searching endlessly for a salon that could handle natural hair. And i was surprised at how busy they were. Anyway I had an appointment at 10, i didnt start my hair until abt 12p and I left at abt 3p but I appreciated it because I was squeezed in but it was a LONG day. They took really good care of my hair and the ladies were very very nice. For a wash treatment, trim and flat ironing I paid abt $110. The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star is because the hair due only lasted abt 1hr so it was kind of a waste of time and money. I wouldn't say
