Kaizen Academy
Kaizen in Japanese simply means "To Strive for Continuous Improvement". We are a mid-sized dojo that focuses on Traditional Okinawan Martial Arts with a foundation on "Kaizen". In addition to having highly skilled instructors with over 100 years of combined experience, we are also affiliated with Shidokan International.

This institution hand selects dojos that follow traditional Okinawan techniques, respects tradition and culture and ensures that schools are not pushing out "Black Belts" that are not true to the standards. We are a premier training facility-dojo for those new to the martial arts as well as those returning to training from different martial backgrounds.
Services
We are a mid-sized traditional martial arts school affiliated with Shidokan international, one of the few premier sanctioning bodies certified by the Japanese ministry of education. Shidokan is not a franchise cookie cutter organization, it is a voluntary affiliation that promotes excellence in traditional arts.
Fun and engaging 25 minute long classes taught by experienced instructors with a focus on character development, etiquette, and self-defense. This program builds a strong foundation for students as they begin their martial arts training. Our instructors are passionate about martial arts and share important lessons around discipline, fitness and focus - while demonstrating healthy living and a passion for their training.
Kobudo classes are held once per week, and Saturdays for kata and special weapons. During the week, the classes are 30 minutes for beginner novice students, and 60 minutes for advanced. On Saturdays the classes is 30 minutes long. Kobudo is traditional weapons training with the bo staff, eku bo, sai, tonfa, kama, and katana.
Training in a group is a great opportunity to meet new people. The casual atmosphere people enjoy during sports, combined with partner practice makes it very easy to bond with others. You will become part of a brotherhood or sisterhood far stronger than typical casual friendships. Just like setting goals in business, school or in our private lives, the road to your black belt starts with the first step.

I have been bringing my son here for the past 2 1/2 years. Lucien is a boy who has had issues with focusing, short attention span, and a problem with keeping his hands to himself. Kaizen Academy has made all the difference in the world. Lucien LOVES his karate and even decided to compete in a tournament this year. His school teachers have commented on what a great student he has become since starting karate. Also, when I have had behavioral problems with Lucien, the team of Kaizen (especially Ken) has been there to discuss them and come up with a plan on how to help Lucien. They are supportive
