Dr. Kennard L Herring was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and worked as a licensed optician before deciding to pursue a career in optometry. He completed his doctorate degree at Salus University in 2014. He has been trained in all areas of eye care and was previously enrolled in and completed an advance pediatric and vision therapy program during his tenure at Salus University.
Nostalgic Eye Care Inc. is dedicated to providing the best optometry services possible. Our professional staff is here to guide you and your family along throughout your health journey. We offer consultations, eye exams, contact lens prescriptions, eyeglass fittings, and much more. In addition to ensuring a friendly environment and great eye care, we have a wonderful selection of eyeglasses for new and existing patients.

When you walk through the doors of Nostalgic Eye Care you will be greeted with a warm and welcoming smile! Our frontline staff can handle any completed documents that you have (see downloads above). After we receive your documentation you will go to the exam room to meet Dr. Herring. He will review any health conditions, medications, and insurance information you have.
Our patients are our priority and we are available to schedule appointments and answer questions to ensure you are seeking appropriate medical care for your eyes. The best way to understand and evaluate your eye health is to speak with a qualified optometrist. We are here to answer all questions for you.

Searching for another eye doctor for my children and I and I am sooooo happy to come across this office. So clean and welcoming and it’s black owned! Good hours and location. I absolutely loved the care and attention that I received from Nostalgic Eye Care. Dr. Herring and the staff were the epitome of excellence. The atmosphere is clean, comfortable and feels like home. I felt like I was in an episode of Cheers where “everybody knows my name.”

I went as one of my first post lock down appointments, and they did not disappoint. I feel the doctor was very thorough, as I did tests with him I never did with other eye doctors. They went through all of my concerns. Everything was very clean, and it's very spacious! The desk staff is very nice as well. I will definitely be going back, and I'm so happy to support a great black owned business! Thanks guys.

Nostalgic Eye Care! Where do I start? The establishment is beautiful; something about the location when you’re in there on a sunny day & the sun just shines in so gracefully lol. Their customer service is amazing! I don’t remember her name, but there was a lovely woman who helped me pick & choose my glasses, she gave me suggestions and really made me feel great about my choice, which I absolutely LOVE! Their selection is wonderful, might I mention. As well as the care of Dr. Herring, he’s great!

I wholly recommend Nostalgic Eye Care. I love my new glasses and prescription and had a great experience. Dr. Herring is very kind, attentive, professional, and skilled. The rest of the staff members share the same qualities. Additionally, my glasses arrived in less than a week. I will certainly be a return and regular customer.

Dr. Herring is the best! I recommend seeing him immediately for your optometry needs! I had an eye infection and he got me in right away and diagnosed it. His office is beautiful and staff is friendly & professional. Very quick and easy process. I am a highly satisfied patient!
