Canvas Supply Company is a local, family-owned & operated business that has been a part of Seattle culture since 1882 - way back when the family owned the current ferry terminal downtown and a huge mercantile store called Sunde & d'Evers Co. that specialized in the same things they still specialize in today: custom accessories for marine vessels - like awnings & enclosures; sails; window, floor & wall treatments; cushions; upholstery; furniture; decorating; bedding/soft goods; and of course - ANYTHING MADE OF CANVAS!

Just genuine disrespect from the team over at Canvas Supply Co. I was hoping to get a quote for adding grommets to a canvas and the person said, “I’m busy - what - do you expect me to babysit you through your little project,” after being on the phone for two minutes. I would recommend literally anywhere else.

I have dealt with CS for more than 15 years, 2 motor yachts 3 Boston Whalers for canvas construction and repair. Also had their sister company make mattresses for me. I will be dropping canvas off this week for work. Highly recommend them for canvas work.

I had Brian and team put in acrylic enclosures around entire fly bridge and aft deck on 76’ custom motor yacht, Chillin’. My boat has now become much more usable in all weather conditions all year. In the summer simply slide open panels for airflow, or even remove them. Simple. After two years, all still great.

I don't understand all of this negativity. Seattle Canvas is expensive, but you get what you pay for. They do exceedingly high quality work. On my boat they have done EZ2CY enclosures (the absolute best), leather seating and much more. If you want ill-fitting stuff, go to the competition. If you want the good stuff come here. I have been patronizing them for years and have never had a problem with their customer service -- they just did a rush job for me at the height of the boating season. What else can you ask for?

Worth EVERY penny: we had them recover our Sea Ray cushions and they look BRAND. SPANKING. NEW. They aren't cheap but they're not ridiculous either (cost-wise). Everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. The ONLY thing I would change is to be open on the weekends but that's the owners' privilege. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR UPHOLSTERY. SERIOUSLY.

I had a large tent that needed a very small repair. Another local company had told me they could do it (with an estimate and everything), but when I showed up they balked at the size of the tent and I balked at their attitude. Since I was already in Seattle I tried Canvas Supply on a whim and I was able to get walk-in service. They quickly put the tent on their machine and knocked out an inexpensive and effective repair. It was not the scale of work they normally do, so I can't vouch for their proper abilities, but their attitude and service were refreshingly good and I will definitely use

Love their work..over the last 3 years they have made ...new curtains...new flybridge vinyl....new cockpit canvas with 10mil clear windows. Next will be new carpet in the saloon...Bottom line...find a good boat mechanic, a good canvas company and never let go of either!

Tony at Canvas Supply Company has replaced our awnings several times and he always does a first class job. We have two large awnings that face the sun & incoming weather in Magnolia.
Our awnings were originally installed by Ranier and they always flapped ( or luffed if you're a sailor) when the wind picked up. Ranier's replacement awnings were no better.
Tony's awnings are tight as a drum which greatly extends their life. He is friendly, very experienced and highly professional.
I noticed the Canvas Supply web site doesn't really make it clear that they do awnings on houses

I removed my hatch off my boat so they could take exact measurements for the cover I ordered. They said it would take about 2 weeks and I haven't heard a peep... it's been several months. I guess I'll have to remove the hatch again and take it somewhere else.. grr..

I pulled in here with my food truck to ask about having my awning adjusted and could not be happier with the customer service. Not only did they drop everything and troubleshoot my problem, they fixed some other things on my truck at NO charge! I will be directing my boating friends here for their canvas etc. needs and will be back to have my awning fixed. More reason to love Ballard!

We have had Sunsetter Electric outdoor shades for about 8 years. We have looked for someone to help us service and adjust these shades since we installed them 8 years ago. Finally Sunsetter provided us with Canvas Supply in Ballard. Prior to that we never found a company who would come to our house and work on the shades. Tony came to our home the day after we spoke to him. In about 1/2 hour he was able to service and adjust the shades to do exactly what we wanted them to do, but had been unable to do our own adjustments following the Sunsetter instruction manual.
He is skilled and certainly

Tony personally walked me through the process buying and installing a Sunsetter awning for my home. He was personable, knowledgeable, accommodating and timely and made the necessary adjustments. I highly recommend Canvas Supply Company and Tony Bell.

Went here to have a boat cushion recovered. They said they could make a whole new cushion for $300. I said sound great! They requested a 50% deposit, which seemed reasonable.

Fast forward a month...I get a call it's ready so I call back to get the total....and $785. When I asked why I wasn't informed of the price difference sooner they said we never quoted you $300. Nobody wrote down a price was there logic. So I guess I'm responsible for their employees incompetence. I just thought $150 seemed like a good deposit I guess. I hope you catch the sarcasm.

I'm headed there

The poorest customer treatment and the highest quotes I could ever imagine. These guys are so awful, I recommend going to anyone else but them. You will regret it.

They did a terrific job repairing cloth covers for outside chairs. The staff called to discuss options and made an inexpensive repair that will extend the life of the furniture. We have taken several items, and we are always pleased.

I recently had the davenport in my 2002 Riviera re-upholstered at the Canvas Supply Company in Ballard and was super happy with the job. The price was great and the completed job was outstanding. The people in this outfit treat you like a friend instead of a customer.

When my boat was new, I also had them install hard plastic windows around the hardtop. Six years later the windows still look new.

Their "old fashioned" personalized service is wonderful.
