The owners exploit the hard work of their employees by promising a lot and delivering nothing. I worked at Cypher for over a year, under Sam, and can clearly recall her not paying any of her employees on Christmas. When anyone tried to get in touch with her about our checks being late( days before December 25th) she was unavailable. We were not paid until after the New Year.
We found out later she was out of cell service range because she was having a crab-leg dinner with her family at the beach. As an apology, she made us all soup from the leftovers. She never apologized for not paying anyone

The lovely lady behind the wine bar was extremely friendly and helpful. Pointing me in the right direction to grab a bite to eat at *Vivant Fine Cheese; she did not fail to mention I was welcome to bring my lunch back to enjoy it with a pairing of wine in the extremely comfortable and peaceful patio area. There by the train tracks I found the hidden treasure of Paso Robles. 💕
Between the friendly and peaceful atmosphere the delicious an affordable wine in addition to the delicious cup of coffee I had on my way out; Cypher Winery is a MUST anytime I get the fortunate chance!

This is my favorite winery in the world! They have the most outstanding wine and also wonderfully surprising blends. We became members the first day we discovered Cypher. Introduced many friends to this winery over the last couple of years, everyone became fans too! ❤

Our last tasting in Paso before going to SF... I must say I was impressed with their Zin (which was surprisingly hard to find this time in Paso!) All wines were beautiful and balanced. I ended up with a bottle of '16 Syrah. She will be taking a nap for a while. Tic tock...⏰
Great relaxed atmosphere, inside or out.
Nice price as well.
Do stop in, you will enjoy.

Too bad we didn't get to try the wine. We were asked to leave due to a pick up party taking place. If they would have had signs out letting people know that general public tastings were not available we all could have saved some time. Poor marketing to actually ask people to leave- other wineries have their pick up parties in a separate location at the winery or after hours. Guess they aren't interested in acquiring new members for said parties.

Good wine. We went on a Saturday around 5PM and it was packed, we went to Devolet winery which was right around the corner. We came back on Monday and we were the only ones there, much better.
Prices a bit high unless you join the club. We are members of too many clubs to join this one.

Great wine, some bottles are a bit expensive. Tastings cover a wide variety of offerings.

Out of all the wineries I've been to in Paso (and I've been to quite a few), this is my favorite. Another review says they are pricey - perhaps - but I have never opened a bottle of Cypher Wine and thought, "Meh." There are wines under $40. I just looked on their website and out of 14 750ml bottles listed, 8 are under $40. Heck, 3 are under $30. Wine club members get a nice discount as well.
The glasses are quite witty, the staff are personable and attentive and the wines go with food AND also are lovely for just opening a bottle at the end of a long day. No disappointments for me here.
